We're getting a new countertop and the choice is between a Sharp with regular technology or a GE profile with inverter technology. the sales guy can't adequately explain 'inverter' to me and what the benefits or possibly pitfalls might be. Anyone know anything? I'm leaning toward the GE but we use our microwave for pretty traditional things-we don't cook whole meals in it -just thaw, cook, heat. Feedback from the smartest group of people on the planet is requested!!!:worship:

We have an inverter in our new microwave and the difference is night and day.

I found out it means that the waves come from the sides and the top instead of just the top. Our last wave-Panasonic- had it and I didn't even know it. Panasonic invented it. A little more research and I found out that Sharp invented the turntable in the microwave. Now most larger, better microwaves have both. We bought the GE profile.
