Interview the person below you (Part II)

Coral Reef. (we're trying this next trip in June)

do you watch parades or skip them and ride some of the busier rides?

watch them sometimes, usually once a trip and then do things the other days

Which parade that they have now, is your favorite?

I'd have a Pixar character event, similar to what they had for the Pixar anniversary a few years ago. We had a great time seeing Mr. Potato Head and some of the Monsters characters that don't normally meet. Oh, and I'd make sure Wall-E was there too!

Of the resorts where you have already stayed, what is your least favorite and why?

POP...............just a decorated road side motel type place.........and too crowded, no sit down restaurant. Bad maid service.........for us anyway.
Won't be back.

Which is your favorite TS place and why and what do you like?

We have so many! For a character meal: Tusker House, and CRT just for the castle and Princesses. Narcoossee's for food and atmosphere

Same Q

Teppan Edo - I love the fun of watching the chef do his cooking, and the food is wonderful

If you could go behind the scenes anywhere in WDW where would you go

kitchens, especially where the baked goods are done

What is your ideal day like (or would be like if you could do it)?

I guess I've been drowned in the Kool-aid because every day at WDW is my ideal day. If it was just me, planning and doing just what I want, and assuming that I'd be immediately escorted to the front of any and all lines ;), I'd probably start out at AK for breakfast at TH and safari, on to DHS for TSMM and ToT, then hop on over to Epcot for Soarin' and Living with the Land. After that, I'd be off to MK for a chili dog at Casey's, POTC, Splash, BTMM, HM, and many rounds on the PeopleMover. Somewhere along there, I'd grab a Dole Whip Float, see my little boyfriend Push, and people watch a bit on Main Street. After that, I'd head on back to WS to walk around and snack a bit before Illuminations. That would be pretty much a perfect day!

What are your three favorite things (attractions, restaurants, characters, snacks, whatever) at each park?

MK: The Castle, POTC, Mickey
AK: Tusker House, Safari, Festival of the Lion King
EP: France Pavilion, Soarin', Mexican Donald (used to be Beast)
HS: Beauty and the Beast Show, Characterpalooza, Animation Class

Same Q

MK: MVMCP, Big Thunder Mountain & Pirates
AK: Dinosaur, Camp Mickey Minnie & Pin Trading
EPCOT: Soarin', Sunshine Seasons & Living with the Land
DS: Toy Story Midway Mania, Great Movie Ride, Toy Story Pizza Planet

Question: What 3 restaurants have you tried that you complete opposite experiences each time. Awesome one time and horrible another time?

I've only ever had a bad experience at one restaurant, and that was 50's Prime Time. Our server was quite rude from the start. Not their usual antics at this restaurant, she was down right unpleasant. I have countless allergies so the chef had to come out to talk to us. We waited over 20 minutes for the chef. We wernt worried about waiting, we know this happens. However when he came out, he was very unaccomodating. According to him, everything I wanted on the menu I couldn't have (an impossibility I think) so we decided not to have lunch there and instead just ordered drinks and dessert. Both the chef and server were rude when we told them that and the server asked why couldn't my sister still order a meal - like I was going to sit there and just watch her eat?!?! The dessert took so long to get there (and it was terrible) and our server disappeared for 20 minutes when we asked for the bill! Eventually, we asked another server who helped us. It was the only time at WDW that we haven't left a tip.

Best experience at a restaurant and why?

I'd have to say our overall best restaurant experience was at Sci-Fi! A few trips ago, right before my youngest DS turned 3, we had lunch there (it's an every trip thing for us now). We had enjoyed our previous visit at Sci-Fi, with good food and good service. On this visit, we were planning to have our DSs split the oldest's meal, and the server, when he realized what we were doing, started asking our youngest what he liked. I love it when servers talk to the kids instead of acting like they're not there! When it came down to it, they split the entree part of the meal and he brought each of them soup, salad, and a drink. He was so attentive to the kids the entire meal and really provided awesome service for all of us. The food was really good, and the cool, dark atmosphere gave us a nice break from the September heat. We had such a great time at that meal and left refreshed and ready to go.

What about you.....what has been your best restaurant experience?

Best restaurant experience has to be Teppan Edo for my birthday. I love that place! One best and worst was Morocco. We went one time and had great food and a great experience, but went again and the food was subpar and the servers were rude. Crazy opposite.

When is your next trip to Disney?

My DSs and I always do a countdown on the dry erase board in our kitchen when we get to double digits. I obsess alone prior to that! :upsidedow

For this trip though, I have a new countdown going. Since my DBro, DSIL, and DNephew are going with us this time and only my DBro has ever been before (only once and with us), I'm sending them a monthly what-to-expect document to fill them in and build the excitement. At eight months out, they got a binder with basic info about our reservations, December weather norms, Photopass+, Christmas at Disney, and Magical Express. At seven months out, they got info about our resort and Disney transportation to add to the binder. Next month is Disney dining and our ADRs, followed by info about each park and special things we're doing (spread out over a few months), and ending with a packing list and itinerary a month out. They've been so excited about getting it each month, and my DNephew wants them to read it to him every night! Disney brainwashing complete!!

Do you like taking friends and family with you to WDW or do you prefer going it alone (with just your immediate family)?

I love taking friends and family, but I get a little discouraged when they don't share my enthusiasm. I feel like I'm hosting them at my home and have to make sure they have a good experience.

My sister and family joined us a couple of years ago and all they wanted to do was thrill rides. So they were a little bored after about 2 days. Another time, my Dad was vacationing in Daytona and came over and spent the day with us at MK. Dad, my stepmom, and brother had never been to Disney. I spent most of my time being the fastpass runner so that I didn't really get to enjoy the day. Plus I don't think Dad really appreciated how all my running allowed him to do almost all the MK attractions in one day.

So that's way more info than you wanted but I think I like the idea of bringing family and friends, but the reality is I have a better time when it's just me and my family.

NQ- do you watch Fireworks and Parades or look for shorter ride lines during this time?
