Hey guys! I have been reading these posts for ages, and now I finally decide to post one of my own. On the 10th of August I applied for the Summer Work Experience Program for next summer. I just had a few questions which could probably be answered by anyone. Do many people apply but not get asked to an interview? Will they check my references? I hope so because I have some really good ones! What is The Commons like? Is that the only place where International students stay? What are my chances of getting my dream position on The Great Movie Ride as I was wondering since this is quite an involved role perhaps they don't let students be skippers . . . What sort of organised activities are there for the students? How often do students go out of Disney as I would really love the opportunity to explore Florida! If I wanted to take some of the Disney classes but wouldn't get college credit for it, would I be able to do that? And if so, would I have to pay for it. Finally, are there any other longer programs which a UK student could get involved in bar Cultural Exchange and ICP. Like could international students do any of the Professional Internships?
This is all assuming I would get on of course! Wishful thinking right? If anyone would like to share any tips of experiences they have had on any of these programs I would really appreciate it since I don't hear enough anecdotes these days!
Take care

This is a bit late, but have only now seen this thread.

I've applied for the ICP next summer too. Just wanted to wish you luck :)

I'm pretty sure that the only options available to us as UK residents/students are the two you mentioned: ICP and cultural representative prog (for 1 year).

I always assumed (and correct me if I'm wrong), that you can only apply for the PI and the CPs if you are enrolled in a US university/college.

All the best :goodvibes

What is The Commons like? Is that the only place where International students stay?
The Commons Housing Complex is only for those Disney International Program Participants taking part in the Cultural Representative experience. All other Participants, including those on the various J-1 Programmes, are housed in the other complexes.

What are my chances of getting my dream position on The Great Movie Ride as I was wondering since this is quite an involved role perhaps they don't let students be skippers . . .
Disney Internships and Programs Participants are indeed used on the Great Movie Ride Attraction, in so long as they are able to properly perform the functions of that role.

What sort of organised activities are there for the students?
The Disney Housing Office team does occassionally organise excursions for Programme Participants to destinations throughout the Central Florida region.

If I wanted to take some of the Disney classes but wouldn't get college credit for it, would I be able to do that? And if so, would I have to pay for it.
If you are on a J-1 Programme, you are more than welcome to enrol in Disney Education Courses. However, Cultural Representative Participants are unable to do so.

Finally, are there any other longer programs which a UK student could get involved in bar Cultural Exchange and ICP. Like could international students do any of the Professional Internships?
All Disney Professional Internship opportunities are limited to those persons who hold unlimited authorisation to work in the United States. This includes, but is not limited to, persons holding Legal Permanent Resident status or United States nationality.
