Canada's Coffee Crisp

Never heard of this one before. Anyone know if it is sold at WDW?

Can't answer your question, but this is truely one of my favorite candy bars. Growing up in Canada and moving to the US, I find that Cadbury offers a far better slection of candy in Canada than they do in the US. The photo of the Crunchie bar above had be salivating.

Crunchie Bar from England!!!

I was reading through the posts waiting to see a Crunchie! Definately one of my favorites. I grew up in England and have a sweet tooth so ate lots and lots of their sweets. Flakes that we all love so much also come dipped in chocolate.

Other favorites; Maltesers (malted milk ball like no other), Double Decker, English bon bons (toffee covered in a candy shell), pear drops, fruit pastilles, wine gums.

And of course the super funky English potato chip (crisp) flavors; Prawn Cocktail, Ox Tail, Roast Chicken, Pickled Onion, Steak and Onion, Marmite and Thai Chili to name a few. I can blame them for my Salt and Vinegar addiction.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I saw that in a store in Canada at Epcot. They had some of the cooler stuff at Epcot I thought.

Curly Wurly from England is my favorite. They are just like the old Marathon candy bars from the 1970's, not like the Marathon bar that is out now. I also tried my first Flake on my last trip, it was wonderful.

I'm sorry, I mistakenly deleted part of my post, where I mentioned being able to purchase Coffee Crisps at the Canada pavilion. They had a couple variations, but the original is still my favorite, even though I did like the varients as well.

I'm from England I love Flake bars too and Crunchie bars are good too, as for foreign candy and snacks I love the Austrailian savoury biscuits called shapes. :)

Thanks, but now I'm confused! Is it crunchy or chewy? Or just Chocolate?

I'm from the UK, and everyone over here would recognise this:

"Only the crumbliest, flakiest chocolate, tastes like chocolate never tasted before"

It's the perfect description of a Flake and is the jingle that is used in ads for them. :goodvibes

Flakes are just chocolate - not chewy or crunchy - but still very unique and delicious! :cloud9:

My Aussie friends have been kind enough to send me Tim Tams. They are delicious. heres the description from wikipedia
Tim Tams are a chocolate biscuit made by Arnott's Biscuits, Australia. A Tim Tam is composed of two layers of chocolate malted biscuit, separated by a light chocolate cream filling, and coated in a thin layer of textured chocolate.

I have thus far resisted the great temptation to stop at the local british import store and spend a ridiculous amount of money...you guys aren't helping.

Love the british chocolate stuff...flake, aero, club, etc. We used to fly over to England every few years to visit family, but its been about 16 years since I was last there. I remember allsorts and liked them (aside from disliking licorice in general).

My personal vice is Rowntree Fruit Pastilles. Sugar coated fruit flavored sugar!

Like Jelly Babies, but get sick of them pretty easily.

I asked this in the other thread, but no one said anything...I'm trying to remember the name of a candy bar that was available in England probably in the early 80s. It wasn't chocolate, but I remember it being more like a flat bar of pink taffy (think laffy taffy, but perhaps stiffer), with some colored inclusions (I don't recall if they were crunchy or not), and something about it made it kind of pop in your mouth (like pop rocks). I think it had some sort of cosmic-related name, but I just can't remember what it is.

Anyone remember it? Is it still around? I think I had one of those whenever we stopped in a store...

Other favorites; Maltesers (malted milk ball like no other),

Okay, I know I said I like coffee crisp and Crunchie. However I love Maltesers. When I describe them to people in the USA, they say "oh like a Wopper". I say Nooo, 10000 times better.

This time when I go on vacation I'm taking some Chocolate. Last time I was eating the US chocolate and didn't like it. I didn't realise that I could get Flakes at Epcot. Do you have Cherry Ripes or Boosts? I didn't see any last time but only went to a servo on I-Drive.

Your making me want Maltesers and Flakes and I'm all out. Guess I'll have to go to shops after work.

Yum! I think my next trip I need to do some candy shopping. What do you guys suggest for someone who does not like cookie and chocolate when mixed together? I am NOT a fan of Kit-Kat or Twix type bars. I am more of a dark chocolate girl. Herseys special dark bar...or the Milky way dark. Also like peanut M&M's, and Crackel bars. :thumbsup2 Oh and I love whoopers. Ok ,now that you know the type I like, please give me some suggestions! THANKS!!

PS-I will almost kill for Godiva chocolates.

I love to get McVities Hob Nobs in the UK Pavilion.

The last time we were at WDW, we were exploring the UK Pavilion. When my youngest son saw them, he insisted it was his "most favorite thing to eat ever". After entertaining several employees and customers trying to convince him that they couldn't be his favorite thing to eat since he had never eaten them or seen them before, I just broke down and bought them. He wasn't throwing a temper tantrum about it (b/c I wouldn't have bought them), he was just being very creative in his reasoning.

Doconeill, do you mean a Wham! bar? They sound like you described...they were dark pink with the little crackly bits in them and they came in the dark blue wrapper? I think that's what they were called...I don't remember for sure, and I'm not sure they were around in the 80's, I remember them from the 90's, they sold them at my primary school! If they're what I'm thinking of, they were so good, but the Irn-bru ones were better!!!

Sid74 PM'd me about them...I think that may be it. I'll have to see if I can locate any to be sure...checking the import store later today :) If they were fairly flat bars, it probably is what I'm thinking.

It was definitely in the 80s...I was last over there in 1990, and I didn't have quite the sweet tooth then (and wasn't there for as long as we usually did, was starting a new job).

I see they have all sorts of flavors now...

Do they sell these in the World Showcase? If it's 10000 times better than a Whopper then I've got to have it.

$41 dollars lighter in the wallet...

I stopped by the local British Import store. They didn't have the Wham bar, but I'll be on the lookout for it. The girl there wasn't familiar with it, and didn't get a chance to ask the owner (and I'm not going to order them by the case just to get them...yet...). I may have to see if my relatives can send over a few bars...

But I did grabs some Flakes (including a Dipped one for myself and a Dark one for DW), a couple Aero and Galaxy Caramel bars, a Dairy Milk bar (which we will compare directly with the domestic version), fruit pastilles, Allsorts (I remember them being pretty tiny, but these are big - perhaps a different brand), Orange Club bars, Maltesers, a Cadbury Bournville dark chocolate bar, and a Kit Kat dark...the Flakes were $1.25 alone...

They had lots of other things as well...almost everything people tend to mention and probably available at the UK pavilion - Yorkie, Lion, MilkyBar, Chewits, Smarties, etc. And there are non-candy items too...

For those in the area of Massachusetts, the place is British Delights in Westford on Powers Rd. (down the street from Nashoba Valley Ski Area, not terribly far off I495), and they have a web site - and they ship... :)

I always have to pic up some Baci Chocolates from Italy. (love hazlenut and choc).
