Interesting thread re Beach club

Theres an interesting thread, regarding Beach Club, over on the resorts board. A few members have seen it. Pumpkinboy, spiceycat, ducklite all have seen it. Perhaps one of them is more computer savy that I and can post the link.

I admit it ruffled me, and I am not even a big fan of the Beach Club.

What makes you say that...I didn't read he whole thread (yet) but DVC compared to a KOA.....I bet the guy compares apples to elephants and calls them equal.

I got a big laugh out of the BC being like a KOA campground from that thread. Just tonight my own mother told me she wasn't going to tell her coworker that I was going back to WDW again cause they would think I'm a redneck for going so much! Since when did DVC become so trailer?
I then asked her what is the difference in us going to WDW often for vacation versus people that go to the same beach town, mountains, etc. every year. A matter of fact my aunt has a timeshare near Dollyworld. I guess that isn't redneck? Oh, well. Not even my Mom gets it.

Nope, only thing I saw was the KOA thing, maybe I read it after they revised it cause I really didn't think it that bad. After all KOA, redneck, I dunno those fit the description for BCV nicely, don't ya think?

I guess it was the running screaming unattended kids things that got me. It struck me as rude. It must of you as well. as you thought trailer trash as well.

This is why DVC shouldn't be promoted as a savings. Somtimes People think we are there on low budget.
Personnaly I could stay club level for 9 nights at AKL cheaper than we stay at DVC. ( Of course then we will stay have till 2042.)
And most important the boys big tubby.

Now you know why we own points at the VWL-KOA. It has a much larger lobby than the BCV-KOA.

Oh well at least with this DVC-KOA I get hot and cold running water, showers, beds and I don't have to search for sticks to burn and sit around while I cook marshmallows! I also don't need to worry about the ice supply!

I camped once, can you tell I hated it?

Personally I don't understand the uproar over someone's comments about the atmosphere of a resort. I own at BWV and depending on the time of year the lobby is chaotic and full of chidren supervised and unsupervised. Some people will always be rude it can be found at every resort. Just because DVC isn't cheap doesn't make us any better or worse thanthe general population who visit WDW. It's not a stretch to say you will find more serenity at VWL, OKW, or the yacht club than the BC or BWV. I love activity, but if I wanted serenity the last place I would pick is BC. I've never been to the grounds around the pool and not found it very busy and filled with happy children. When people make comments they are generally trying to give their impressions of the atmosphere of a resort at the times they visit.
Are there times when the BC is serene , yes but if its a major requirement for you, then there are better choices.
I have noticed that even mild comments require a flame retardant suit if you innocently try to share an observation. Lighten up

I did not see a rude comment in the OP's comments. It's their opinion, so what if you disagree. Neither is wrong.

If the OP changed her/his termanology I am sure it was due to the comments made about his/her choice of words.

I have seen running screaming unattended kids at BCV, I have seen them at the Grand Floridian, I see nothing rude about making a comment about it. No one said "all" children act that way, nor did I see anyone comment all DVC children act that way.

As I stated in my response to the OP, yes the addition of DVC has changed the BC/YC. There is no way you can add that many people and it not. They did not increase any of the public facilities when they added the extra guests so yes the impact is simply one of numbers.

The only rudeness I saw in my opinion was some giving the OP a hard time for having an opinion they did not agree with.
