Interesting Member benefit I just noticed on the 2016 printable list

I actually stumbled upon the info last night on the DVC member website before these articles were posted today-the link I posted above will take you to some of the info-it appears the OPN article was able to obtain some more specifics/details then is currently listed on the website.

Somebody added the "exclusive" parties to the standard DVC "perks" listing...

That was likely in error as they want to role this out as a consolidated campaign - it would appear.

Honestly...the "ticket offer" is all I care about at this point...as to replicate my DVC annuals from 2014-2015...it wound only be a cool 100% markup to the current prices.

So I will wait until the dust settles out...and IF they give a sweet AP deal...Disney gets my money. If they do a "4 day" type promo...then they get some of my money and the dirt cheap supergrover passes we got last week sends some of my money to Seaworld, aquatic, discovery cove, and Busch gardens Tampa...and maybe universal too...

The Typhoon Lagoon party doesn't start booking until April 8th.

I saw this on Facebook yesterday. It would've been nice to know before I booked my 2016 trips. I have 4 trips planned which total 8 weeks (no holiday timeframes) and not one event is during any of those 8 weeks, except the February event and that date is the day we cruise on February 25th, so won't be there. I did not choose my dates wisely this year.

All the dates are during the week. We are DVC but also local so we do a lot of weekend trips. I have almost all our trips planned for 2016 already. Can I go to any of these events and not be staying that night at the DVC ???

We are local as well. Last year, the Beach Bash, which was free, required an active reservation for the day of the bash. IIRC, however, the pay parties, like Halloween, did not require a reservation. I'm not 100% positive on that though. I know we considered attending, and we didn't have reservations.

Are these events free? Do we need regular tickets to attend. We were t planning on going to Disney this year but do have a trip planned inSeptember to do other things. So the September 6 date would work for us but we don't have APs this year. Maybe we will if they have a good ticket deal.

There hasn't been any official announcement of the special events by DVC so I don't think anyone knows for sure but the Typhoon Lagoon Beach Bash was free last year. I'm sure we will find out more once they officially announce them-we have limited info from the DVC printable list I stumbled on the other day and subsequent details OPN.com obtained and posted yesterday

We're having a gals trip in September! Yeah! Plus we're at AKV, so the after hours event is right in the theme of our stay!

Just realized DH & I will be there for a TL event, too! Wow! Our family of 5 will be with us in July, were guests invited to last year's party if staying on points on their own reservation?

Hi, Bobbi! So jealous of your gals trip! We were going to take this year off after 5 trips on APs last year, but these events make it soooo tempting!

Last year, I got an invitation to the TL party because our DVC reservations coincided. (Actually, it was the night of our check-out day, so we ended up adding a Poly studio on a 35% off chase promotion -- it was soooo worth it to attend the event!) We had 9 people in our 2BR at BLT that morning, and I think we were allowed up to 10 people total into the party with a member. Or maybe it was 5 per member and my DH and I each had our card. Anyway, it shouldn't be a problem to bring others, just be sure to carry your DVC card with you. I'm sure they'll give you the details when you call to make the reservation.

Sigh...looks like we're missing these free events. Missing the February one by 5 days--couldn't change it even if rooms were available as school vacation ends 2/21. Then we hit our 'year' break as our AP's expire and we're low on pts until 2017.

If there ends up being a ticket offer, hopefully they won't need to be activated until at least the end of Feb. 2017. We'll see...

At least we got to go to the Merry Mingle for the first time this year! We miss having the Welcome Home Wed.--it was something you knew would be there every week, and while we didn't go to it every year, it was nice to know it was available.

We are a family of 5, but are bringing 14 extended family with us. If we can bring non- members with us, I guess we'll just have to throw it out there and whoever jumps first can come with us.

Anyone who attended last years event recall how long it lasted? Were all aspects of the water park open during the party?

Wow! I'm kinda disappointed that my 10 day late-July trip missed all events this year, but you have me beat!

But I can complain too much, because we did get the TL Beach Bash last summer, and it was great!

The Crushin' Gusher and Shark Reef were closed during the party (I guess there was early admission during the last normal park hour to get on Crushin Gusher)
But otherwise the other slides, lazy river and wave pool were all open at least until midnight.

I would love more details on the Typhoon Lagoon party. We are at Vero that week and I'd love to know if it would be worth the drive to Orlando. I know it's far, but we are at Vero all week and am sure we might be looking for something fun to do with the kids mid week.
Am also crossing my fingers for a good ticket deal!!!

Would have loved to be able to attend some of these events, but it doesn't look like any of them will be on while we are there, Apr 18 to May 19. Here's hoping it will be another discount on the PAP.
