Interesting Member benefit I just noticed on the 2016 printable list

So are there multiple dates for the MK thing?

I'm sure nothing will be going on when we are there this year. We always have that luck haha!

A "ticket offer" was in the writeup about DVC anniversary on the Orlando park news article.

So if anyone catches that when the details come out...much appreciated.

I'm currently in a state of boycott

They look good, but it's unfortunate I won't be back until 2017. Given that many members book their holidays 11 months in advance, shouldn't they announce special events more in advance to allow people to plan for them instead of being luck of the draw (having a vacation booked for when they announce a special party)?

It would make sense...but many promos from Disney are to get people to "jump" and add to their vacation schedule...as opposed to their normal travel patterns which they can predict down to the near minute.

I'm gonna guess you're from the UK...which means it's difficult for you to make extra plans...

...but for people from the kingdoms of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida and Massachusetts - the highest per capita DVC members...
...it's far more easy to add side trips

I'm very excited about the after hours MK party. A friend and I will be there (staying at the Poly Villas!) for the March 3rd party. Does anyone have any guesses on what we can expect at these parties?

It's probably an extra magic hours...but with limited access
Will be a highlight of the trip for most that attend

thanks for the info, we're going in September and will be there for the Safari Spectacular never been to a DVC event before and excited :)

That's what I keep saying. All major Disney events should be announced at least 11 months in advance. I understand why they don't and realized DVC members are not always the primary audience. But please give a chance to attend events/attractions, especially ones designed for members.

Where is this "printable" you speak of? I scouring around the DVC member site now and don't see anything.

I know dozens of DVC members and nobody plans that far out. I think there are multiple mentalities in the customer base...and this one is clearly aimed for the "take it, leave it, take it" crowd

Remember: they just massively changed how annual passes work...and that affects Florida resident and DVC members much more than the other demos combined.

Funny you mention DVCers not planning. We are military and can never plan that far out. No matter how many times make a reservation at 11 or even 7 months, I always change it. Yesterday, DH says we might be able to take trip for MLK weekend after he asks his boss on Monday. Low and behold, there are no reservations to be had for the weekend so we might take kids out of school during the week. This is something I didn't understand when we bought into DVC. I'm not complaining, just learning/adapting as we go and making due.

We find that 2.5-5 months out there is generally plenty of options and availability.

We rotate around a lot...so it doesn't matter to us much. As long as we bounce around.

For those that "HAVE to have my BLT 2 bedroom high floor MKV"...it doesn't work.

But that 11 month thing is like a timeshare in the traditional sense...which isn't what I bought.

Just an FYI Incase anybody read and missed it on the OPN article we've been referring to...

At the bottom it stated the member site with details goes live on 1/4

I actually stumbled upon the info last night on the DVC member website before these articles were posted today-the link I posted above will take you to some of the info-it appears the OPN article was able to obtain some more specifics/details then is currently listed on the website.

I read on facebook this afternoon about a DVC member lounge going in upstairs of the Imagination Pavilion at Epcot. I saw it on my phone, I'm trying to find the link. Anyone else hear about it?

I FOUND THIS ON ANOTHER SITE.

Does anyone know if you have to be staying at a DVC resort to register for an event? It doesn't look like these coincide with any of our trips, but we could easily drive down to attend.

I think last year when they did the Typhoon Lagoon party you had to have a Disney Resort reservation for that day in order to register.
