Interesting DVC post on Resorts Board

The thread topic is refrigerators being placed in the moderate and deluxe rooms. On page 2 there is a long time poster making a comment about "watching us on the DVC board", as some of them feel we are just posting how great DVC is for financial gains in renting points. It was almost comical! As I posted there, we have never rented our points and will still tell anyone that our DVC purchase is the best thing we have ever done. After 4 add ons, we still would love to have more.

ceejay13... You might want to re-read what CarolA posted. I beleive it was in response to another poster that posted something about DVC on the first page of that thread. This is a person who rents their points.

Yes, I agree that CarolA was just clearing up what another DVC member had stated about DVC always having had refrigerators and how it was still the best value.

It sounded as if he was trying to keep his business. Once the deluxes get refrigerators, there will be very little difference in a deluxe room and a studio, except the deluxes get daily maid service and are a few feet smaller.

They are already allowed to use the fitness centers for free now, so the perks are vanishing. Not a good thing if your bread and butter are DVC studio rentals Sun-Thur.

No big deal mind you we have never had a use for a fridge in our room when we are not at a DVC resort we always bring our el;ectric coolers with us. We drive down and use them for drinks etc in the car for the drive. I will laugh though if the prices of the rooms goes up by 10 dollars a night or they are stocked with goodies.

The studios will still have the actual kitchenette area with the wet bar, microwave, coffemaker and toaster. I kind of doubt the frigs in the rooms will be as large as those we have in the studios -- they'll be more the size of the mini-bar.

You're right and I was told during our recent stay that they will be placed in the closet of the deluxe resorts.

I will take a DVC studio any day over that situation.

ITA, that I would still choose a DVC studio over a deluxe room. But your average renter may not. Especially when priced comparably. At the studio level the percived "perk" gap is closing which is bad for business when you rely on these perks to close the deal.
