I am reading "The Little Big Book of Disney", published last year. There is a page with interesting DCL facts. Veterans may know this stuff, but I didn't!
"...with capacity for 3,345 guests and crew, these 85,000-gross-ton vessels must pack enough power to keep a small village afloat. On any given day these Disney liners:
*500,000 gallons of fresh water are distilled from sea water
*280 tons of water drain from the AC system, 220 tons of which are recycled to operate laundry facilities
*8,260 cups of coffee are served
*1,850 telephones are available for phoning home
*diesel storage tanks hold up to 20,000 gallons of fuel
*up to 1.365 megawatts of energy are used to power the ship
*cooks scramble, beat, fry, bake, and hard-boil 5,040 eggs
*159 quarts of frying oil sizzle on kitchen griddles
*30 gallons of chocolate ice cream are consumed
*5,390 pillows cushion sleepy sailors
And what does it take to stop these ships from sailing the Atlantic at a top speed of 24 knots? A 14-ton anchor."

That's very cool! Thanks for the interesting tidbits. I like the one about recycling the water from the air conditioner for the laundry facilities.
