interesting conversation with DCL today..

My concern is, again as a current investor, that you are taking away a schedule that is almost always running at capacity for an unknown. Right now, Disney needs all of the revenue stability it can get and "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" certainly applies here.

Now, also as an investor, the additional capital expenditure for 1 OR 2 (or more) new ships would make good business sense. As I stated earlier, the larger cruise lines are doing quite well in spite of the economy & to properly compete, DCL needs to expand. Wait to try the different routes, however, untill there is a replacement ship for the current, profitable (?), route.
Disney also needs to generate additional revenue from the parks & resorts division overall & I feel that moving a ship (or sending a new one) to the west coast would help to draw customers to DL but still wouldn't take either of the current ships out of service to do it.

Personally, I would rather do a 7 day west coast US than the Med. I can drive to California to save on airfare, have seen most all of Europe & 1 day in each port just wouldn't be enough to experience it properly (try to imagine seeing Rome in 7 hours -anyone seen the film commercial with the 70 mph tour?!).

Awww! I want the May 2004 dates now, lol. <sigh> Now I'm leaning more and more towards the January 2004 dates.

What would be even more interesting than a cruise to the Med (Navy Lingo) would be Alaska. Anybody think so too? Wes

well , i was wondering what route would be used to reposiston
the SHIP if it was to do a Med. route it would be awesome to do both .... that is what we have done so far to keep it fresh

We did 3 day on the MAGIC, Nassau
Then we did 7 day on the Magic, EASTERN
Then we did 3 day on the wonder ,Nassua
and then we did 7 day WESTERN
and i think it would be great to go on the ship in another route
if it does go to the med WE will be there for the first one ...
would be awesome... Love inaugural cruises so much fun...

Peter oh yea and the pins u get sell for alot on ebay , lol
got enough to pay for deposits on future cruises...
who would have thought a $12.00 pin would go for over $125.00
