So, I'm planning our first trip to USF/IOA. I just bought a 2 park, kid free plus 3 days free ticket. I'm interested in the preferred ap. I'm not sure if we'll be vacationing next year but I do like the discounts it gives. I still need to book a room and I wonder if it would be worth it for me to get the preferred ap. Does anyone know what discount it gives for June 9-11 at RPR? What is the renewal price for it? Would you get the ap if you were in my situation? I would most likely just buy one for myself to be able to get the discounts and buy the 2 day pass for my son.

As of 30 seconds ago, the rates at RPR for your dates are as follows:

Regular AP AAA

Standard Waterview $259 $233 $207

Standard Gardenview $229 $206 $183

You can call them at 1 800 232-7827. You do not need to have the AP or the AAA card when you call, as long as you can show proof of such when you check in or shortly thereafter. I think you can also use a AAA card to get discounts on dining and maybe on gift shop purchases? Not sure on that one.

I have a AAA card. I think it quoted me at $183 with AAA. Another thing- What if I get an ap and make a reservation, then later on the price goes down. Can I call USF or RPR and get an adjustment?

Yes, you will probably have to make a new reservation and then cancel the old one. We did that for our Oct trip, as long as it is before the cancelation window, t's not a problem.

As far as getting an AP for the discounts, it's great! I'd say, without AP hotel discount, we usually save $60-100 for 2 adults. And that's over a 4 day trip. If you stay off-site and need to park for 3 days, that saves $24 (is it still $8?) alone. And if you do decide to go back next year, it's only $100 to renew.
