You may be able to if one of the cabins next to you has rented the modem. It is $10.00 a day I think. We were there in Nov in a camper and rented a modem and made friends with a young teen who would pull up a chair near our site to use his laptop. Seemed to work ok for him. Have a great time
The internet connection does not have to be wireless to be able to pick them up. At home I use a router on the desktop with the dsl modem. That one is hooked up normal with phone lines and power cord. My laptop has an internal wireless card that picks up internet signals. You just have to be near someone that has an unsecure connection to "grab" the connection. I've probably confused you even more ahha
I'm assuming by a wireless card, you mean a PC card that goes with a broadband carrier like Verizon/Cingular? Or do you mean that your laptop is WiFi enabled.
If it is a true wireless card, depending upon your carrier, you should be able to get online fairly easy - if you have bars on your cell phone you should be good to go.
If you're talking about a WiFi enabled, just turn on the laptop and see if someone nearby has left open a connection for you.
I have an internal internet card on my laptop. I get a connection at home (like right now) from my desktop that is across the room. Its on a router running off my phone line.
I've also got a connection on a busy business section of road.
