I was hoping to do day by day reports, but I just can't find the time. So I hope you don't mind one big one!
After much fretting about Isabell, we had a very uneventful flight from NYC on Sat, 9/20. I've flown tons & I must say, Song is a very interesting airline. They kept calling themselves the "bus" & tired to get people to sing "row row your boat" all the way down.
Only cokes are free, you must buy your food.
We landed in MCO a bit early. Tons & tons of people. Our limo driver from Payless Transportation was there to greet us. He remembered us! We used them 2 yrs ago. Last year we rented a car. Got to WL about 2pm.
All dd (4.5) wanted to do was swim. I could hardly get our suits out of the cases fast enough. After a swim, we had dinner at Artist Point. After dd & I headed over to Spectro as it was the only night shown during our trip. Stayed for the fireworks. Tons & tons of people, could hardly move down mainstreet! Took about 1/2 hr to get from dock back to our room. Bout 10 boats went before we could get on.
Sunday, we went to MGM. MGM was crowded! Saw a few shows. DD really liked Playhouse Disney. Took her on Star Tours. Big mistake, she hated it!!
Dh rented a watermouse & took dd out. She wasn't to sure about it! I waited for them on the beach. It was so beautiful & calm, not a sole around. I was just amazed at how WDW could be ssoooo crowded & have places where there was not another sole! Back for more swiming & had dinner at Wispering Canyon. Food was good, but they had no fish on the menu. Dh only eats fish. Luckly, they had snapper as a special.
Monday, went to MK. Stayed about 1/2 day. Dh took dd on the race cars. She was the "driver" & loved it. Did a few other rides then headed back to the pool. Only made it to fantasy land & toontown. Was crowded too! (Spoke to someone who went to more adult areas of MK & said it wasn't crowded.) We couldn't believe all the older kids. When we were there last Sept (same week), hardly any older kids. Took the boat to CR for dinner at the steakhouse (one of our fav's).
Tues we went to AK. Saw 1st show of Lion King. Wonderful show! Then went on the dino ride that's like dumbo (one of dd fav's) about 10 times. Got more character autographs. (Got ton's at MK & MGM.) Walked around a bit. Went back to the pool. DD loved the kiddie pool! Had a light dinner at Roaring forks.
Wed, the long await breakfast w/ Cindy! Dressed dd up in her cindy dress, tiara, gloves & shoes. Took boat to CR & monorail to MK. It was neat walking in while tons of people were behind the ropes! They just let us in, didn't ask for a PS # or anything. Got to the castle about 8:40 for 9 b/f. A couple little girls (abt 2) thought dd was "the" cinderella! Wanted to hug her, etc. Too cute! Brittany LOVED the b/fast. The food was pretty good too. Nice & hot. Went around MK for a while. Over near POC dd spotted a hair wrap place. She had to have one! *LOL* I didn't even think she knew what it was as no one was getting their hair done. She sat very still & it looks very cute. After the parade, we headed back to WL for more swimming. Another dinner at Concourse Steakhouse.
Thurs, I woke early, 6am (actually, it's sleeping in for me in the "real world" *LOL*). Snuck down & did a load of laundry. Not a sole in the room! Was hoppin when I left about 1 1/2 hrs later though!
Thurs, started at Epcot. Road test track for the first time! Dh stayed w/ dd. (After MGM, she would only ride rides she could see, no more inside rides.) Got lots of autographs & pictures w/ the "bus"! Headed back to ride Mission Space! INCREDIBLE!! You've got to ride it!! DD was bored & wanted to ride monorail to MK, so we switched parks. Got some rain in the afternoon. Went back after the parade. The parade was much shorted than the prior day, humm....
Dinner at Artist Point.
Fri, our last day. We spent the day at Typhoon Lagoon! We all loved this park!! Dh loved body surfing in the tidle wave pool. DD loved the water slides in the kiddie area. Storm passed through, luckly only rain, no lightning. Went over to Trails End for dinner. Really loved this resturant!! What a great value! They had shrimp & mussels for dh, pizza, mac & cheese, & mac & red sauce for dd!
Also spent some time at the petting zoo. Headed back for packing.
Sat, our car came abt 8am to take us to the airport. Another uneventful flight. This time the plane was kindof empty so we had lots of room to spread out.
We loved our stay at the lodge. Didn't like the sink set up at all. They need to put a pocked door between the sinks & the bedroom. It is very noisy when you've got hairdryers going. They also need more fish dishes. We normally like to eat in the hotel. We had a problem finding dishes dh could eat.
We found the transportation wonderful. I think the longest I waited was 5-10 minutes. Lots of times the wait was just a minute or two. It was nice having the boat between WL, CR & the campground.
Our room was 5138, looking over the quiet pool. Nice room, but I paid for a courtyard room so felt a bit "ripped off". We also got quite a few towel animals & sceen. DD loved them.
Took lots of pictures & video. Will post some later when I get them back.
- oh no, another year till our next trip!!
