when I took the onsite DVC tour, the guide gave me some INSTANT FAST PASSES to use at the parks that supposedly are only good for 48 hours after the tour. i did not use them all up. Do they REALLY expire after 48 hours? Anybody know? thanks

I got some instant fastpasses once because of a mechanical delay at a ticket window. I asked the cm if they had to be used that day and he said yes. We lucked out because we arrived on Saturday afternoon and went to MK that evening just to see Spectromagic & the fireworks. We figured lines would be long so we wouldn't ride. I had to activate my AP and that's when we hit problems at the MK gate, the pass would not print. We only waited about 20 minutes. Without even asking, we ended up with 3 sets of instant fastpasses for any fastpass rides, so we got to ride that night.

Can a member get these passes for touring SS? It might be nice to tour it even if we're not planning on adding on. (Although I'm sure the tour will make it tempting.)

How many passes do you get for a tour?

ask your guide to leave some at the sales center desk for you and tell him/her how many people are in your party. I have done this several times with no problems, but just don't always get into the parks to try the fast passes I have. Each card/pass gets you 2 instant fast passes.

I am still trying to find out if these passes given to me weeks ago will work in the near future (end of march).

I don't know about these fastpasses, but a normal fastpass can be used beyond the time on there. One time we had fastpasses for TT and everytime we went there it was broken. We finally ended up using the fastpass at the end of the next week when we came back to WDW and had no problems. Maybe we were just lucky.:D

No current members cant get them, at least thats what we were told. And we were also told that they are good only for two days, but im not sure if thats two days from the day you tour or the day you start using them.

OK now that I heard all this I need something cleared up.

I'm not a FastPass fan, since for me it doesn't make sense to double back across a park just go go on one ride.

But how did these DVC-issed FP's work?

If I walked up to, say, TT,

Could I just hand the CM my DVC/FP card and just go on the ride,

or

Did the card just allow me to put the card through the machine and get a future time like everyone else?

Disney does have an official policy that FPs can be used at ANY later date if a breakdown occurs during the original return time.

I've seen posts from people claiming that CMs allowed them to use their FPs after the listed return time under just about any circumstances. But others have reported that CMs have turned them away for being 15 minutes late. Sounds like a crapshoot in that regard.

We were give some of those "dvc fast passes" the beginning of February when we signed paperwork for our WVL add on. They are only good for 48 hours from the time they are activated. We
attempted to use one at 60 hours from the time they were activated and they would not work. The great thing about the passes are though they give you an immediate entry into the ride.
For example if the fast passes distribution is handing out tickets for 3 hours from now, yours will be for now! So use them wisely!

aw, so I guess 48 hours may be the max. MWSTAR is correct. You put the DVC fast pass into the machine and instead of having you come back, it instantly lets you in, no wait. I LOVE those fast passes! Can't hurt to ask your guide for some when you come in or just take the tour to get some. Definately worth it!
