Inspired by the "lunch thief" thread...

I wasn't going to go all into this but since you think the cops should have been called on us:

The morning after the 1 incident and calling the cops, his DF came over to my house and yelling at me why i called the cops. Now this is a grown man and his daddy is coming over and doing this. i told him we are a quiet cul de sac, familys and firecrackers shooting over our houses at 2 am isn't cute. then he decided to be funny and said he could shoot them anywhere anytime, so yes they got it to-since his DF was so nice and insisted fireworks could be set off at anytime.

Well, to be honest, I couldn't follow your posts at all. They are very confusing. I didn't know that the fireworks were being set off in your yard. I thought you were just doing it because the guy was a lazy moocher, and that was why you were doing it. If you had been setting off fireworks in my yard for no apparent reason, yes, I would have called the cops. You should have called on the people doing it, too, like every time it happened. :( (They are illegal to set off here, so I don't know if that makes a difference in my thinking - are they legal there?)

Can it be proven to the cops satisfaction who did it?
:confused3
That's the point of this thread, I think.
:)

Yeah, good point - but fireworks are illegal here, and the police take it very seriously (its so dry, they can start massive fires) so that's where my thinking comes from.

Um, I could care less if his parents came and whiped him after he used the bathroom, but they don't get to intrude on other's peace and quiet and act a fool.

Sorry you were the only one who couldn't follow. but I did call the cops and wrote about in a post. they came out-told me if they didn't see him do it they couldn't do anything. Firecracker man wouldn't even open the door to talk to them. THE COP was the one who told me about how this guy was a troublemaker and the same could go for me in the affect I could do something and they can't do anything about it if no one sees.

And yes, it was dry here, middle of summer and it could start a fire. his place and his parents had a sprinkler system but other people did not.

She wasn't.

Umm.. what part do you not get that I am getting you? There were previous posters that posted they didn't understand it either, so someone posted what you were saying, and I got it after that.

I'm all for peace and quiet. I like it deathly quiet. I call the cops on the kids two houses down that blast their rap music so loud at 2am that it shakes my walls. And I do it every darn time. The cops would come every time. And finally it stopped.

I do get that you finally understand. but your last post was call the cops. And i did and wrote about it earlier, so i was reiterating about me calling the cops.

We' re cool.

Gotcha. :thumbsup2

Now if only the cops would deal with the recent string of break-ins like they do with fireworks here, we'd be all set!;)

yeah, I know three different families that had break ins, and the police basically did nothing about it other than file a report.

I just found out that our housing development has had 5 break-ins over the past year. One of them being two houses down. (not the same ones that the rappers are at)

Back when I was still a teenager, I was dating this guy and his brother would constantly steal all the snacks we would buy. So, out came the ex-lax brownies.

That's the only thing I ever did like that, but I still laugh about it to this day.

nope, not the only one, but I was too lazy to try and figure it out.

Nice.

Short version:1) a new guy moved in on my street. lit up fireworks in the summer not a holiday, illegal. I called the cops, they came out, told me they can't do anything unless they see him do it.

2)Firecracker's DF came to MY house and yelled at me for calling the cops.

3) So my other neighbor and I lit up his house in the daytime when he slept as well as his parents house since "fireworks can be fired at anytime" according to his DF.

4) Every time he lit up at night, we lit up during the day, it took about 2 or 3 times and he stopped.

Yes, it was juvenile, but if the cops won't do anything and they tell you they can't touch you unless they see you do it, then oh well. He stopped.

thanks. that was SO much clearer than the first two posts. :goodvibes

:rotfl2: I guess I was feel a bit overambitious today.

I love your avatar picture - I have a huge replica hanging in my bedroom on canvas. It's my favorite.

I didn't actually do this, but I did make the announcement that I was going to....

I worked 12 hours with 2 breaks. I would bring 3 cans of pop from home. I drank one in the beginning of my shift (it was my coffee) and have 2 in the fridge for my 2 breaks.

First break for several days, I would go into the fridge and one or even both cans would be gone. Not just loose cans sitting in the fridge, they were in a bag with my lunch. My lunch would still be there untouched, but my pop would be gone.

I happened to walk in the breakroom when all of production was shut down and taking a break at the same time. I get my lunch and my pop is gone. I turn around from the fridge and announce with everyone there that tomorrow I will have 3 pops in the fridge. One for first break, one for 2nd break, and one that I will be rubbing in the cat litter box at home. I will be the only one who knows which can that was.

The next day, I did have 3 cans in my lunch. Only I did not actually rub one around in the cat litter box. At lunchtime and every day afterwards, noone stole my Pepsi.

Back in the late '70s, my parents had a snowflake neighbor with a very snowflake attitude. :) They had a drainage problem in their back yard and decided to put in a drain to help with the problem. The bad thing though was they decided to do the easy thing and put the drain where it let out into my parent's back yard! They didn't put it where it should drain properly draining down between the houses or on the other side of their house to drain that way.

Well after my parent's realized that THEY now suddenly had a drainage problem (greater than normal lol) they went looking. They found the new drain that came under the fence that my parents themselves had put up between the houses. They then cemented the end of the drain (it was in their yard after all;) ).

It took the neighbors a few days to realize that the water was now backing up again. The wife was looking over the fence one day while my mom was out back. She actually had the audacity to ask my mom if she saw any problem with their drain pipe! Of course my mom said 'nope, I don't see any problem with it!'. rofl!

Ugh...ok...I don't know if you would call this frontier justice or my husband just being an ****** but here is goes...

While we were in NY for Christmas this year they got some snow. We were staying at my BIL's house and my husband and his brothers went to shovel and plow the driveway, walkway...etc. Then came back in...everything was fine.

Well...in Schenectady(outside of Albany)if you don't have a driveway, the parking is street parking. BIL has a fire hydrant directly in front of his house so you can't park there.

We were hanging out in the living room and my husband's cousin says, "Dude...the guy nextdoor is burying you car with his snow plow!"

So my DH goes outside and asks the guy if he is going to clean our car off...the guy gets irate and says no because we were parked "in his spot".....it's a public street. So my DH gets all bent of shape and grabs the shovel and goes to the guys car and starts to shovel the snow all over it.:sad2: So the guy is reluctantly trying to clean the PACKED snow off our car and I am yelling and my DH to stop and he did, but he wouldn't clean off the guys car...then they had some words and it was over. LOL...I'm from FL...so I thought maybe we were in the wrong and that there as some unspoken rule about parking in from of people's houses and that the guy had a right to be upset...but ALL of DH's family said that the guy was wrong and that he was being the ****** so I let it go.
