To the OP ... Your situation is very similar to mine so I would agree that the in-laws are in the wrong for not treating both kids equally. I also understand your frustration as far as the in-laws not babysitting the little one. Do I think they are obligated to babysit? No. However, if they did it for the first one..what is the problem this time? I have the same issue so I understand.

We all need a break every once in a while. Figure out how to get it and take it. That is something I struggled with. I always felt like I was a 'bad mom' for needing time to myself. Finally I got it. It's normal and it's ok. It's hard to be a parent, don't beat yourself up and make it more difficult. Here's to time-outs,
