Inspired by ShamWOW - Infomercial purchases you have made?

We have an over the range microwave and one day the handle just cracked and snapped in half. I didn't want to pay $300 for a new microwave since it really still worked. I went and got Mighty Putty and patched the handle and to this day it is holding on fine! :thumbsup2

...and as if on cue, here's Vince! "You followin' me, camera guy?"

LOL, it's also holding the towel rack in my kids bathroom to the wall, for the last 9 months or so!

Shut up! Really??

SHUT UP! WOW!

Well, I'm impressed.

My husband and I always laugh at that commercial with the cheap $1 store coffee mug they use it on. :lmao: That would be cheaper to replace the mug. :rotfl:

LOL, I did a search of reviews before I bought it and found a TV news show that tried it, and they actually used it to hook a chain together and towed a car with it!!!

Seriously though, I figured if it could hold on a microwave handle that gets almost daily use, it's good stuff. Especially this microwave because you really have to pull hard to open it (probably why the stupid handle cracked off in the first place)

I ordered the slap-chop. :faint:

Tonight the fam was watching (I don't know what) and I heard the ad for a Time Life World War movie thing. DH starting going, "Tick...tick...tick..." and I looked over at him like, "What the hell are you doing?" and he said, "I'm counting down until you pick up the phone and order it." :) (I didn't - but it looked interesting!)

Does anyone have this:

Hey CR, I have it with 4 wells. I love it!!! I got mine new, sealed in the box off of ebay. It makes a ton of stuff, quick.

I bought Pro-Active years ago when it was only available on TV (as opposed to every shopping mall kiosk I pass by lately...) and it worked really well for me for years.

It was a great solution to some adult "blemishes" that I developed in my mid 20s. Yuck... :sad1:

The kids insisted that we give my mother the Aquaglobes (she collects glass paperweights). Actually, she says that they work very well.

When the Christmas tree fell over and broke the poor Minnie angel off at the ankles I resorted to the Mighty Putty. Minnie looks a bit thick in the ankles now but it really worked as advertised!

I WILL NOT get the dang "Sliders" pan that the kids are nagging for. It looks like the burgers just steep in their own grease - sliders indeed. yuck.

Oh, I wanted to add with the GT XPress, I use non-stick spray. I spray a little on a paper towel and wipe the wells top and bottom. I coat it well and clean up is a breeze. Don't spray the machine. I made that mistake once.

My favorite thing to make is omelettes. They are so quick to make!

Anyone have the thing you stick under your doors to block the air on both sides? DF really wants those....

Have a bunch of these and they work exactly as described. However, we bought our from ABC Distributing (I think that's the name -- a catalogue) and paid $5 each instead of the $19.99 shown on TV. Love, love, love these!

PediPaw -- HATE IT! Does absolutely nothing to my Lab's nails.

ShamWow -- used it once at WDW on Splash Mountain for the seats and it didn't work at all.

SpaceBags -- bought them twice -- regular to be used with vacuum -- the zippers never worked and as soon as I would slide it to the right, everything to the left of the zipper would open and visa versa. Gave them a second try once someone on the DIS recommended them. Bought the travel ones that you squeeze the air out -- OMG that was tough and it really didn't do that good of a job to make it worth the hassle.

ProActiv -- seemed to work well with my DD13 but we only use it occasionally, as needed.

Hang and Level picturing hanging tool -- just got it for Christmas so I have no idea if it works yet or not.

Overall, I don't have much luck with the TV products.

Oh, I forgot. I have a set of Space Bags that you can use without a vacuum cleaner - just roll out the air. Not impressed.

And I don't have the Buxton organizer, but I have several of the Travelon version. You probably could get all that stuff in - but you couldn't find anything without taking it all out.

Well a few yrs ago I bought "THE FIRM" workout system, 3 or 4 dvds, steps and a weight bar thing- used it a few times- it would work IF I actually had the time and space to do it everyday! WoW it made me sore the next several days!!!!
Also have some space bags, they could work if the zoppers would stay together adn 1 has a hole in it

MIL always gives us weird little things she orders off tv - most are in the junk drawer or in the basement:rolleyes1

I do have the H2O mop - it works fine for a quick cleaning, not exactly what I was hoping for but it came with the carpet thing too and I do like that

Snuggie-- just put your robe on backwards, -- I did see the same type of things at Kohl's and Macy's this christmas season too!

I love this thread, having made my first ASOTV purchase at the age of about 14... It was the Sweepa, they cleaned a mall in the infomercial and I was sold. :rotfl: Still have it too, it comes in handy when you need a squeegee. That started the ball rolling and I bought the Ronco Electric Food Dehydrator (still have that too, it works pretty well but is a hassle) shortly after. My parents just loved all the stuff I was bringing to their home. ;) But they still have their Royal Diamond (I think that's what it was) cookwear that I bought them for Christmas when I was about 17. Take it from me here and now, the **** pills never have and never will work. :lmao:

So for more recent stuff...
OxyClean- I love it, though it seems not to work as well as it used to.

Hercules Hooks- Really interested in, may have to try those.

Steam Bullet- Just ok, but comes in handy for sanitizing and dewrinkling. (And please, no matter how tempting it is, do not aim it at your husbands butt even from what you deem to be a safe distance. He will have a scar. :rotfl: Don't ask me how I know that...)

George Forman Grill- Had it and loved it, used it until we dropped it and broke the lid. Still have it though, JIC we feel the need to use it again.

I know there are many many more, will have to think.

I bought The Bender Ball today at WalMart. I will have sexy abs in know time!!!! :thumbsup2 I bought the aqua globes at WM a few weeks ago and I LOVE THEM...the swivel sweeper...not as much.

Only thing I have bought from infomercials is the Time-Life Legends of Rock CD's. My DD put them all on her Ipod, so when we are in the car I know some of the songs she plays.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who gets interested in what they are selling the infomercials :rolleyes1
I was cracking up at this thread
Only things we have ever bought is the grill, those pasta pans with water holes, and the pastry makers or whatever those filling things are called- JUNK
But I've been interested in the Snuggy and Shamwow I almost bought my mom the Snuggy for Christmas and my dad the Shamow since they seem to need it...
Also I think we need some of those hooks my closet if full...
We could always use more room...
