I think it's interesting that there are close to 2,500 hits on that thread (presently) and only 55 responses. So how about a poll?

I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. Good for Archie comics. :thumbsup2

I voted What?

I know what Archie comic is. BUT never read the old and didn't know there was a new:confused3

Go to the, "Millions offended thread" something like that. There is a link/picture.
I can't link right now.

I think people are worried that the topic will get religious and/or political, and therefore be removed, and they don't want to be caught up in any mess that entails.

I voted "other". I am not offended by it but I am not going to rush out and buy it either.

I voted other. I really don't have an opinion on it - I neither love it nor hate it, but I am definitely not offended by it.

Can I vote "don't give a rat's patootie?"

voted other, because I am for gay marriage and love that aspect...

However, not a big archie fan. lol I am more a 'the walking dead' fan.

I voted other, but it's got nothing to do with being offended by it or against gay marriage. I'm just not into the Archie comics, so I can't really choose "love it."

I have read through the other thread, but I'm staying out of it. I feel very strongly about marriage equality and tolerance, but I'm not looking to get caught up in a thread that could get ugly.

Those threads are a powder keg. There is really not much to add to the conversation. People post in support and everyone pats themselves on the back for being such caring and good people while waiting for someone to post an opposing point of view so they can rip into him/her and call him/her a bigot. In short, the OP of that thread is baiting.

I guess a preemptive defense is in order. I support gay rights as much as anyone but don't have the pressing need to participate in a baiting exercise.

Love it!!!

The less taboo that the entire subject is treated and the more it is talked about in all forms on all levels the more accepted it will become as a normal part of society....It's called progression and it's about time :goodvibes

OP from the Archie/Million(44,000) Moms thread here. I voted "love it". Like others on this thread, I have not read Archie comics in years. The only comic I read any more is Walking Dead. However, I'll probably pick up this issue since I wholeheartedly support equal rights for all.

It got a "love it" vote from me because any time a corporation does something like this, and chips away at unfair prejudices/bigotries against an innocent group of people, it should be applauded. They didn't have to write this storyline, but they did. There are many children that live in a same sex household. And most likely, these children have seen some of the prejudice/bigotry associated with their parents marriage/union. Having gay couples or gay marriages in comics or children's books is a great way to teach any child that there are many different types of family units, and even though it might be two men or two women, they really aren't any different from other heterosexual couples. In fact, I can think of 44,000 moms that would greatly benefit from reading comics like this to get over their negative and bigoted views of gay marriage.

I was going to vote "Don't like it", but I voted "Other".

I don't read Archie. I don't read comics at all anymore, but when I did, I never read Archie.

I don't read it, because I don't like THE BOOK in general. I have no problem with this particular issue, so I didn't vote "Don't like it."
