Is there any place in the world that is a fairly popular vacation destination that you would never visit, regardless of how much money you had?

For me, I think it would be Las Vegas...I just have absolutely no interest in it.

It would be Vegas for me to. We don't gamble at all and it all just looks pretty cheesey and tacky. It holds no appeal for us at all.

Also, Branson, which people around here just seem to love. We went - once -and it was nothing but mile after mile of cheesey country or oldies music shows and all you can eat breakfast buffets. No thanks. My mother was 64 when we went and she joked that, next to DH and me, she was the youngest person in town!

I don’t really have any desire to go to Mexico or South America (those destinations have become popular around here).

Branson, Missouri. No offense to anyone who likes it there; just not my cup of tea.

Branson or Nashville. Been to both when I was young and it just wasn't my thing.

Some place like Aspen, since I don't ski. :)

Ditto. That covers North America (I'm interested in anything else I can think of).

I will never go to Mexico or China.

Any Club Med resort that pretty much focuses on laying out on a beach. I'm not a sun-worshipper, so the trip would be a waste for me. :flower:

Vegas, anywhere snowy(yuck), and any islands or what not, we are not beach people..

I walked through the Atlantis resort in Nassau once and can honestly say I'll never be back--it just seemed garish and over-the-top to me...

I also would not like to go someplace snowy. Its cold enough here, don't want to go anywhere colder. My brother and dad are always talking about going somewhere to ski. I always tell them that I'll stay inside nice and warm by the fire.

I love to travel. There aren't too many places that I wouldn't want to experience at least once.

However, I don't have a big desire to go to China. Maybe my feelings will change someday.

By the way, one of my best friends will be going to a conference in Las Vegas in April. She is so dreading this as she has NO desire to go to LV. Perhaps a trip to Canyon Ranch day spa will cheer her up while she's there. :teeth:

Mexico holds no appeal to me. Northern Florida (panhandle...sorry!). Miami.

any country that is not safe for an American woman to visit...why take chances?

Something we disagree about! :rotfl2: I've stayed there twice and adored it and all its' garish and over the top theming!

I have to say I pretty much want to go everywhere. I'm not a skier but I'd still to go to Aspen the in summer.

The only places I don't want to go are places like North Korea, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia. Then again I've been to Siberia so after that I'm game to visit a lot more places.

Along with China, which many people mentioned, would any of these be considering "popular vacation destinations"??

Vegas - have no interest at all in going there.

I doubt I'll ever go to Branson either. I suppose I would if a bunch of friends decided to go as a group. But, as a solo family vacation--no way. It's closer to go to my parents lake house and cheaper.

Darn!!! Well, I guess the honeymoon had to end sometime! :rotfl:

It might have been because I'd stayed at the home of a friend who lives on Nassau and had gotten used to, shall we say "simpler" surroundings when I visited Atlantis. It just seemed to contrast so greatly with the rest of the island--total shock!
