In the post directed towards FTWFAN's generosity she mentioned:

I am constantly talking about people here on the DIS

I was like, me too! I will be having dinner with SO and mention something funny I heard, or some interesting bit of information I gathered, and when he asks who told the joke/gave me the info/etc... I start to tell him, but he stops me and says on the Disboards right (while slightly rolling his eyes ;) ).

I find myself talking about the DIS a lot. I also use acronyms far too often. I will be having a conversation and they just slip out. I am terrible about saying "SO" IRL. It seems so easy to just refer to him as an SO, of course people who aren't up to date with all this bulletin board lingo have no idea what I am talking about. I have discussion boards for some of my classes and have to catch myself before using them so as not to confuse others who aren't "in the know" ;).

And heaven forbid I start talking Disney acronyms. (Want to get in another trip to WDW before our APs expire next month. I wish we could stay at CBR, but since the renovations are not complete yet maybe we could go back to POR or try out AKL. I wonder if I could grab a ressie for CRT? If it isn't an EE morning we could beat the crowds, would you want to stay for the SADCT parade? I'm sure someone would make room in the CC! Afterwards we could head on over to EPCOT and stroll around FW and WS before catching the CP and then maybe a quick dinner at LC.)

WDW is just one of those places you can't get tired of talking about, and don't understand why everyone you talk to doesn't feel the same way. SO and I are friends with a couple who are about 10 years older than us and have children. We were at dinner one night and I ask if they had ever been to WDW. He said no, but she mentioned having been when she was about 17 for some band performance. Without thinking I said wow that was a reallllllly loooooong time ago. I didn't even catch how that sounded at first until the others were cracking up, thinking I was making a reference to her age!

Well, being as I work with Shep, yes, we do talk about it now and then.:teeth: Talk about it to DH too, but that is about it.:D

DH is used to me talking about DIS folk. My parents aren't as weird about it since they've been to a DIS meet....:D

with my family a lot, they usually  my sister refers to it as talking to WDW which is when I  but they will laugh at the jokes, with friends and people that I work if I am going to mention something or someone on the DIS I just usually say a friend,

Curly, I do that too. I tell SO it is from the DIS, can't exactly hide how much time I spend here some days :), but if I am relating something I learned here to someone else I collectively call the DIS a "friend."

I talk about things on the DIS, but usually don't say where I "heard" it unless asked.

:bounce::wave::bounce:

When I attend Mass with my DW, I tell her about my immense respect and admiration for................THE DIS RIGHTEOUS ;) ;) ;) and the DIS HANG 'EM HIGH CLUB ;) ;) ;) .......

I'm honored to be associated with people of such HIGH MORAL VALUES!!!!!!!!:jester: :jester:

I don't know how much I talk about them, but I do know that with my DH, I do a fair amount. My family has gotten used to it and dont' even roll their eyes when I say I am going to meet up with a few DISers anymore :)

To DH and my sister, yes. My sister knows most of you here by name, she lurks here sometimes so she is familiar with the players. DH has a bad memory for names, and when you throw Disney names in the equation he gets all confused. So when talking to him about a specific DIS person, I usually give him a little background on who I am talking about first.

And most of my friends know about my pals on my Internet BB. They think its a bit strange, but I don't really care. :)

I do talk about the Dis and usually get the  look when I do.

It's the Dis Meets that bring the double   and   looks.

Yes I talk about the Dis alot in real life!!:)
Most of my friends look at me like Im nuts!!
But I dont care I love Disney it makes me happy!! :earsgirl:

Yes I do but I will just say a freind...not a lie but a its better than being looked at with this face of shock "SOMEONE ON LINE....UGHH".....so I just say a freind in Texas..or where ever the orginal poster is from if I know.

Yes, with Lady M and and also my assistant, Karen. Karen 'knows' many of the folks here, so many of the trying stories of health problems, along with some really nice stories also. Since Lady M is on here a lot more since March, I do get much fewer  than in the past. She knows the characters, so many nice ones, a few jerks here and there. She likes the people here.

Tsk tsk tsk, Sweetie! Shouldn't be talking during Mass...............

Since I have been on the boards, I never MET another DIS-er untill last week. I even Bunked with one!;) Mickey's Sunshine (Christine) and I NEVER met but we hit it off like we known each other for YEARS!:teeth: She was going to stay off-site untill I convinced her to bunk with me at the All Stars. She had to check in with her friend Chrissi Pooh and let her know I was NOT a Weirdo/Killer/whack job! :earseek: LOL! (turned out SHE wasn't one either).:o ;) After returning home, I told everyone how we had never met and how great we got along, and they went::eek: :earseek:  I said how else are you going to meet cool people but on the DIS BOARDS!;) :bounce:

I always share info that I get from fellow DISers with my mom or DH. I also know I spend too much time here lately because of the abbreviations. Was following a car the other day - had the license plate AKL-XXXX - I said to DH - hey that stands for Animal Kingdom Lodge. He just rolled his eyes.

I do that!!!! I'll talk to my DH about people from the Dis & thing s he say & he hardly ever rolls his eyes anymore:D
My friends however always give me the   when I mention the Dis boards.

I have actually only MET a few DISers in person, but even those who I have not met, I feel like I have known them for years. I usually on talk about the DIS to DH and kids, but sometimes you just HAVE to tell someone else. I mean the people here are so wonderful.

The kids and I have done many of the recent exchanges, therefore needing boxes to ship things in. A very good friend of mine works for our areas largest telecommunication provider. So, she has many small boxes(from phones, police radios, etc) which I get to ship my exchanges in. At first she kept asking why I was sending all these pkgs everywhere. Now she thinks it is a great idea and even asks me what exchange am I doing now. I have shared some of my recipes and candles that I have recd with her.

I do love WDW and most everything associated with it. WDW makes me and my family HAPPY! When someone tries to give me a hard time about it now, I just tell them that I am 30-something years old, I work, I pay my bills and if I want to spend the rest of my money at WDW, SO BE IT!!!!!!

I think the DIS is a wonderful place and a wonderful family to be a member of!!!!!!!!!!!!So, I will talk about you guys whenever I wish to(It's all good!!!)!!!!!!;)

Yes, but only to DH and DD. I ususally begin, "Guess what I read on the DIS?", they ususally:rolleyes:    I've never met or talked to a DISer, but some of you are household names.
