Inspired by floridafam--What do you use your KitchenAid Mixer for?

I got the pink one a few years ago for my birthday and I think I've used it twice. I've been banned from baking after a nasty incident with a Betty Crocker cake mix and a silicone baking pan, so it's purely decorative now.

:rotfl2: Being banned from baking isn't all bad!

Well, I've had my hand mixer for 20 years now--got it as a gift when I got married the first time and I got custody of it in the divorce so I think I'll stick with it! Thank you all for answering my question though!

a former fiancee of mine had a kitchen-aid mixer, I tried to get it in the break up but she wouldn't part with it..LOL :rotfl2:

I'd love to have one, they are so much easier to use for all the reasons others have posted,,it'a a shame to hear of so many abandoned ones on this thread...LOL,

to all those lucky owners who don't appreciate their kitchen-aid mixers, if you want to put them up for adoption, I'd be happy to take them in...

I love my Kitchen-Aid mixer, but don't have the counter space to leave it out all the time. So, I don't use it as much as I should. Hopefully my new kitchen will have enough counter space so I can leave it out! :)

I love my KitchenAid mixer. I think it looks nice and doesn't take away from the kitchen by being out on the counter. Of course I also have my Cuisinart blender/food processor out as well. I enjoy cooking and baking and my accessories are important to me.

Like the others have said, I love that I can throw stuff in the mixer and walk away to do other things. Another thing I use mine for is to mix meatloaf or meatballs.

If you love to cook and bake from scratch the Kitchen Aid is a must. :hyper: Especially for larger families. I can make the best chocolate chip cookies because the Kitchen Aid allows me to whip that butter for that certain amount of time without having to stand there with my arm going numb. It is fabulous of cookies, bread dough, and making mashed potatoes!

For Thanksgiving this year I effortlessly transformed a 10lb bag of potatoes into heavenly mashed potatoes. :flower1:

I only use my a few times a year as I'm not a big baker. But each time I do, I am very happy with it. It is sooooo much easier than a hand mixer. There is this one chocolate dream whip pie that I make for my kids at Christmas. It calls for beating the mix for 6 minutes. What a pain. I can just put that thing on, set the timer, and walk away. It is very good for things like stiff cooking dough.
