I almost forgot to tell everyone, I got my hair colored yesterday before my date. Its a deeper shade of red now and I have some highlights. Just a few blond ones. Im happy with the color right now. Im just dreading when it starts to fade.
After I dyed my hair red I started using that new Pantene stuff for redheads shampoo and conditioner and it has seemed to fade less.

My hairdresser yells at me when I color my own hair. Says she won't fix it when I screw up. :lmao: I always color it a shade close to my own hair color, though, so there's limited room for screw-ups.

PLUS- it's so darned expensive to get my hair colored OR highlighted! I'd rather save the $$ and do it myself.

However- my hair place might need a receptionist soon, and my stylist (the owner) asked if I'd be interested... Not sure yet, but it would be a fun place to work, and easy, and they'd get to experiment on my hair- cheap for me, fun for them.

It's just not what I want to do (career wise)- but then again, I'm not really sure what I want to do and now that my senior project is done and over with- I have no excuse to not get a job. I'm like the world's worst housewife anyway- my place is never clean and sparkly! :lmao:

I've always dyed my own hair. Even when I had it blonde (and I'm normally very dark headed) I did it myself. It just costs too much to go to the salon for that.

I use the John Freida for redheads and it does fade less than regular shampoo. I just got the glaze today so I will be trying that out in the morning. There are some better shampoos that help with the fading, but I dont like paying an arm and a leg (more than I do for the color itself) for it. Overall though, reds fade faster no matter what. But I like the red so I will deal with the fade. I might check out the Pantene though next time.

Beck - give the receptionist job a chance. I worked my way through college working in a salon. It was a lot of fun. Plus, I got free hair care while I worked there. Always had great colors, funky cuts, and was the "test" for any new thing.

Are you naturally a redhead?

I always color my own hair (I grayed very early unfortunately :guilty: I actually color to my natural color). My hairdresser has made the ocassional remark too, but I figure it is because they would rather you pay them to do it. ;)

Nope, medium brown.
What kind of color do you use? I'm going to do mine again next week probably because it didn't turn out red enough, it just looks auburn and I wanted to be red, red.

I pay to have mine done. I haven't peeked into the back of the salon yet so I dont know what brands they use. Everytime I go back though, I keep asking for redder and redder.

oh okay i think i got you and beck confused for a second. :teeth:

Hola, chicas!

I can't find a hairdresser I like. My old one switched salons and I'd forgotten to give her my new phone number. Can't find her anywhere! So, for now, I'm doing it myself. :)

You guys are all cool. I'm the only non-cool, non-fashionista one. Sounds like I'm whining. Not! I WAS cool...twenty years ago. :)

I actually watched the news programs yesterday, since everyone is talking about this rally. Now I know what's up and who agrees with me. I don't get to be a conservative or a liberal. Neither group would want me. Being a man without a country, I generally avoid political stuff.

My prediction for today's events/rally: A bunch of young people who have nothing better to do will show up, and a few women. The rest will be people who are in no way affected. Conspicuously missing will be older, Mexican men - they guys who come here to work because they need the money. They will be out making money, because they need it. I could be wrong.

I haven't paid much attention to the whole immigration issue, to be quite honest. I probably should pay more attention. I guess it just doesn't ring near and dear to me, since I will be completely unaffected today. Now- maybe later it will hurt when I can't get certain things because people boycotted working today- I don't know. It's just not one of my "hot-button" issues.

I had to go off my headche-prevention meds while mark and I are trying to get pregnant and then can't have them til I push the kid out- and it's only been a couple of days and already I have a massive headache brewing. I had almost (but not quite) forgotten what a miracle drug that was! Oy.

I'm leaving for WDW soon! :woohoo:

Well, we had a nice long thunderstorm tonight. It was actually very relaxing- my dog would beg to differ, though. What a baby.

Aidensmom- I am half-way through the Girlfriend's guide- it has been cracking me up.

AND- I got my swimsuit today and while it doesn't make me look like Carmen Electra, it wasn't half bad considering what it has to work with! :lmao:

I need one of those doesn't make me look half bad bathing suits, where did you find one? :rotfl:

The girlfriends guide is definitely a good read! :thumbsup2

I got my swimsuit from Lane Bryant. It's cute, black halter with a brooch in between the girls, and it makes the girls look good- which for me was the most important part. I might be chunkers- but my girls look fantastic. Rest of me? Eh. Whatever. :rotfl:

Yep, its all about making the girls, or the twins look good. Most guys can't get past them anyways so the rest can just be covered but the butt curtain.
