Inspired by another poll: who had more influence in your DVC decision?

I showed DH this poll and his recollection of our decision to buy DVC was during the construction phase of BCV ... We were walking back to the BC (from EPCOT) and I told him I loved the location of the BC and they were builing new DVC villas behind the trees. I announced to him that BCV was the property that I had been waiting for and as soon as points were available for sale at the BCV, we would buy....
(Does that count as a joint decision? )

Tough call! I clicked the "both" button -- but I was definitely the instigator. I stayed in OKW in the early 90's but DVC was asking that you purchase 200+ points at the time. Wish I'd known about the resale market (of course the internet was just a rumor at the time... no need to beat myself up tooo much).

I voted that it was a joint decision. DH and I had been interested since our first trip to WDW together in 2000 (when I made him a fellow Disney nut). We weren't married at the time and definitely not ready financially, but every year since then we talked about it. We've been spending our money there every year since 2000, so it started to make more sense to join. We just bought this year.

I wanted to join, he didnt, so I booked a 2 bedroom at OKW on cash.... 15 mintues after he arrived at OKW he wanted in.... so was it a joint decision??? I think not! I planned to hook him and he bit! And I will admit it kills me that his name is listed first!!! Grrrrrrr

While it was a joint decision for us, I did all of the fact-finding. We were planning a trip to WDW several years ago, and before leaving, we got some promotional material in the mail about DVC. We called our guide, and decided to buy before we went down for that trip. Since then, we have done two add-ons. DH relies on me for all info. on both DVC and WDW. He, in fact, has no ideas that these boards exist. To his credit, he never argues with the decisions that I make in trip planning, and happily participates in everything. He's great!
