Hi. I didn't realize until today that the Shrek 4D attraction has moving seats. Is it actually a simulator? The website shows it more like a theater so I'm kind of confused. Could you give me some more information on the experience? It's on our list as we love Shrek in our house.

from what i remember the seats just move up and down (like your driving on a bumpy road) its not bad and i have bad motion sickness(i cant even watch the ride one fish two fish red fish blue fish without feeling dizzy and ) hth

Dawn is correct...the seats basically bump and down but that's about it...it's a great movie and you should really enjoy yourselves. Oh and there are stationary seats available of you think it would be a problem.

It´s not bad at all. I could even compare the sporadic movements to a short ride down a bumpy road.
I recall there were some air and water effects throughout the movie too! :thumbsup2

I get pretty bad motion sickness and I was OK with the movement as far as my stomach goes. But, I won't do it again due to the fact I am a bit chesty and I swear I was going to get whiplash during the bouncing up and down parts! So ladies, if you are a bit "top heavy" take that as a bit of a warning!:rotfl:

Not too many spoilers mac

Yeppers.

Sharadoc, Shrek is great. You'll have good time. The first time is obviously the best so take it all in.

I have to be honest though....after mapmakerj's revelation, and the fact that I've seen Shrek many times, I do believe I am gonna have to take a gander around the theater during that scene. ;)

sorry, but you will lose out if you sit next to me.........

It is fun, but I found that (may have been the August heat) but I chewed a dramamine right when it started! I think a lot of the attractions at Universal are a bit more intense than Disney. I took dramamine almost daily at US.

If I went again, I'd take some as a precaution.

Loved it, though!

OK, I haven't been to Universal since 1990. They had a really fun ride, maybe called the Hanna Barbera ride. Did Shrek replace this ride or has this ride been gone for years?

We are going back to Universal, I say for the first time, since it's been ages ago and I'd only been married 1 year. We will be celebrating our 20 anniversary with our five kids. We are so excited. At first we were bummed about not being able to afford Disney. But now we have something new to look forward to.

That ride is still there, but it has been rethemed to Jimmy Neutron. Same type of thing, different movie and characters.

Thanks everyone. This is a must-do then!

I have a problem with a lot of the simulator stuff. What's your take on the ones at Universal for me - taking into account I like Star Tours, but couldn't handle Back to the Future or Body Wars (when it was around).

I know Spiderman is hands-down wonderful, but I'm a little concerned about it. I think I may try the stationary seats at Jimmy Neutron, but I'd love to hear opinions on that one as well. I think I've crossed the Simpsons off the list.

Well I get sick as heck on Star Tours/Body Wars/Most simulators/Tea Cup type rides... lol and the Simpsons & Spiderman do not bother me one bit.

I have trouble on Star Tours/Back to the Future and spinning rides, but Spiderman is always fine for me, as well as the Simpsons.

However, if you do have trouble with simulators, I would recommend the stationary seats on Jimmy Neutron and Shrek. I personally found the "galloping" seats section of Shrek unbearable and it gave me a slight headache. Same with JN, as it is older and rougher.

Either way, have fun!

This trip when I did Shrek, I had to sit in the stationary seats in the front due to my arm.. and I really missed the moving seats... they really make the attraction.. gives you the feeling of really being in that Onion
