This one is going to be a big hit. It is already critically acclaimed and has a 98% Fresh rating on the Tomato Meter with 133 reviews. There are two bumkins I don't know who gave it negative reviews, the other 131 loved it, some argue it is one of Pixar's best if not the best. I got to see it at the special event and quite agree! Fantastic. So much fun yet so scientifically accurate at the same time!! A rather accurate portrayal of how our emotions work in the midst of amazing fantasy, humor, and a poignant story.

It is trending well but will probably be the first Pixar movie to not win it's opening weekend. Only because Jurassic World had an amazing opening of $208+ Million and is expected to get close to $100 Million. That doesn't matter.

Here is my favorite review which looks at the accuracy of the movie and then a few others.

"As the action played out, my own feelings ranged from sheer Delight to Wonder tinged with Awe at the film’s ability to turn an abstract concept—the contending forces of our psyches—into a spectacle that’s as funny, stirring, unpredictable, exciting and riotously beautiful as it is profound."

Just got back---- movie is absolutely brilliant !! Best Pixar movie to date !!!

Seeing it again Saturday !! Everyone needs to see this film !!

Have tickets for tonight! Not sure who's more excited for this - the kids or me and DH!! :jumping1:

How busy are the movie theaters when you go? Would love to take the kids this weekend and it would be my 4 year old's first movie in the theater. I just would hate for it to be packed.

I'm intrigued by the good reviews. Is the movie something young kids would enjoy? (I ask on behalf of my almost 3 year old).

I'm sure they would. Everything Pixar does is child friendly. With that said I have not seen the movie yet but the director says they made the movie as if it were for themselves or adults.

First off, it's a pretty broad claim to say that any movie is going to bring "joy to everyone". Being the curmudgeon that I am, I remain to be convinced :). Secondly, I don't consider "everything pixar does" to be kid friendly. Some of the stuff they have done would be pretty hard to explain to an 8 yo.

I'd have to agree. I took my nieces to see Up and found myself having to explain miscarriage to a 5 year old and 8 year old. It was years ago and I still feel the discomfort at the thought of it.

Now if they would use this momentum and "reimagine" Cranium Command to an Inside Out show.....
Haven't seen the movie yet, but from an earlier review I had read, it sounded like an interesting premise for replacing Journey Into Imagination. Granted, that would require them even looking at additional projects in Epcot, and further looking at replacing existing IP with new.

Either way, I'll look forward to hopefully seeing the movie this weekend!

I think Pixar is kid friendly in the sense that the movies can be enjoyed on a very simply level with bright colors, action, and humor, while at the same time having very adult friendly depth to the story. I don't think there is a single Pixar movie that most 8 year olds don't love.

Hmm..intriguing. I was going to wait to watch this one at home. Now I am wondering if we should make the trip to the theater.

Go. I don't think you will be disappointed. This is an amazing movie. In fact I am going to go again just to get some of the psychological nuance and jokes built into the movie. It is getting absolutely rave reviews and for all the right reasons.

I also have an ulterior motive: When people make really good movies, we need to get as many butts in the seats and dollars in their pockets as possible to encourage them to continue making quality movies. If not we will be left with nothing to watch but Transformers 6 and San Andreas 4 in theaters.

Saw it this afternoon. Loved it.
Really think it is good for any age. Even the youngest will enjoy the wonderful colors, it was so vibrant.
Disney nods to watch for and some adult chuckles.
Many good lessons. Visualization of emotions was very clever and great for all ages.
How important it is to be aware how big change effects children. Good parent lesson.
Even the emotions learned to appreciate the importance of each other - transfers to humans.
Without spoiling anything there was plenty of moments that triggered memories for me, and how important different time frames in life are to helping us evolve to who we are now.

They were packed. We tried to purchase tickets to a 1:45 show a few minutes before it started. That was sold out, as was the 2:45 showing. We bought tickets for 3:55 and it was packed.

IDK if it would hold a 3 yo's attention. It was a bit longer than I thought it would be. I took a 12, 7, and 4 yo. They all enjoyed it. My 4 yo will be 5 soon. I'm not sure he would have sat through it so well at 3.

We saw it early on Tuesday from D23, and we got to watch a Pixar studio tour which was so funny. They met John Lasseter in a production room for Toy Story 4 and he wouldn't let the cameras come in and was blocking everything behind him, it was hilarious. At the end they did a Q+A with the director and Amy Poehler which was also hilarious.

But, Inside Out was one of Pixar's best movies. I would rank it right behind Toy Story and Monster's Inc. As always it was a funny, heartwarming and original film that will have adults and kids laughing, crying and feeling great afterwards. Highly suggest it!

I just got home from seeing the movie and left feeling disappointed honestly. Based on every single review that I've read, I feel like I must have missed something or didn't get it for some reason. I am generally easily pleased with movies and usually enjoy any movie I watch. Inside Out wasn't bad and I'm glad I watched it, but I was bored for the majority of the time and was looking at my watch frequently to see how much longer it had. In a near packed theater, there were no real laugh out loud or very tense moments from the audience. It did keep my 2.5 year old's attention, but she isn't talking about it much or asking to watch it again like she does with pretty much any other Disney movie that she's seen. I know the premise is over most children of that ages head, but she didn't seem infatuated with any character either. I know I'm in a small minority here, so i guess it just didn't appeal to my tastes, but I was pretty letdown by a movie that I was really looking forward to seeing.
