<Insert Quip-y Title Here> (An October 2013 PTR)

4) DH& I date night at F&W.

What a great idea!!! My parents are going with us this time and I LOVE this idea. DH and I have never had ANY alone time at the World and this would be a fun date night for us!!! Thanks! :thumbsup2 I am just stealing your ideas left and right! :lmao:

***and can I just say that every time I see folks talk about park hoppers now my brain immediately starts yelling "the hoppa!!!" from those satellite commercials for "the hopper"? :rotfl2: Has anyone besides me seen them? :confused3

Annndddd... Now I'm thinking about it. Here's my things I want for sure. It'll be like a word puzzle:

1) BBB and CRT for dinner. Late enough that it'll be evening when we're done with dinner. I don't know what time it gets dark in Florida (:cool2:)

2)Tusker House for breakfast, pretty sure. I guess this *may* be negotiable though. I do know we're going to want a lot of time for AK, because both kids unequivacably LOVE animals. SO, regardless, that'll probably be a whole day no matter what. Also, our AK day should fall during the time my mom and step-dad are with us I guess...

3)MNSSHP. This might be an "off" day, or at the very least a late start day. For that reason, it'll probably be in the second half of the week. BUT, if I don't get hoppers, then it could be a "resort visit" day or something.

4) DH& I date night at F&W. Again, if we don't do hoppers, this would have to be at the end of our EPCOT day I guess... :confused3 meh, I don't know how I feel about that.

I had a list of possible ADRs from when I first started planning back in July. I need to dig it out and look at it, I think...

If you can swing (or swag) the dollars, park hopping tix will give you more flexibility. And because you'll be there during F&W, it will mean that you can head back to Epcot later in the day and just snack your way round the world for dinner.

I vote for park hoppers as well. As others have mentioned, if for nothing else than being able to go do EPCOT for F&WF any night you choose. I know that our regular EPCOT day is one of the most exhausting for me since EP is SOOOO big and there is so much walking. I don't think I would feel like doing F&WF after a full day in the park too.

I think that's what's putting me over the edge toward park hoppers. The date night really is a non-negotiable I think, and at the same time I really don't think I want to have it the same day as our "actual" Epcot day.

Hmmm...not sure why I didn't think of this before :confused3 ...Could you just get park hoppers for you and hubby? That way you can have your date night the way YOU want to, and it still saves you a little $$ by not getting anyone else hoppers.

I think you didn't think of it before because you remembered that Disney has a rule where everyone in the same room booking has to have the same package....dining, tickets....

The only exception is for when you're on a conference and a partner comes along. And then only if you book through the conference website/number.

That could be why I didn't think of it...however...once onsite can't you upgrade just the 2 tickets to Park Hoppers? I don't think there is anything to prevent you from upgrading just the 2 tix. I will have to go read Cheshire Figments ticket sticky to be sure, but I think that's allowed.

I'd be curious to know if you are allowed to do this at Guest Relations when on site. :thumbsup2

Guys... I'm starting to feel overwhelmed. I get that I'm 364 days out, but there are TOO many choices! Mom and SD arrive on Monday and leave Saturday. They won't be stuck to us like glue or anything, and do NOT want to do CRT under any circumstance, lol.

So far:
-MNSSHP, on a weekday (do Tues or Thurs) to cut down on craziness maybe (yeah, I know)

- 'Ohana for dinner one night, pref watch Wishes after from the beach. Def. want to do 'Ohana with the 'rents, so a 6 person res.

-BBB & CRT. I checked at sunset is at 7PM roughly, so whatever time those reservations need to be

-our aforementioned Date Night. Would have to be Wed probably, or Thursday I'd we do MNSSHP Tuesday (or vice versa)

- Fantasmic package, prob. eating at Mama Melrose.

- wild Africa trek will need to be on Wed, Thur, or Fri. (just the 2 of us, not sure what the men folk and kids will do yet).

-I'd *like* to do the Pirate Adventure from POR, but don't have to.

Possible other ADRs:
-Tusker house for breakfast? Or maybe do CS ad then go back to AKL for dinner at Sanaa?
-1900 Park Fare?
-Crystal Palace for a late breakfast?
-
That's all I got right now. And I'll change this to purple once I'm on a PC (on my phone right now)

Spreadsheets are my friend right now....I get very overwhelmed too, so I put every option on spreadsheets and then I can see how things will work best. Now if I can just get our other party to tell me for sure if they are coming....I can really start my planning! Good luck...I think you're doing great so far!

This is a seriously good idea. Me and Excel aren't very good friends, but I may tough it out.

I always fill a notebook for every trip, I do up all of our options, prices, optional discounts... Everything. Then some how, some way, I put it all together and make it all work.

I feel like I am in the same boat as you are though. There are so many options and I am having a hard time choosing, and telling myself I need to stay within my budget, yet I really want to do something spectacular for the girls this time. It's very hard.

It will all come together though, you'll see. :-)

D~

You'll do fine. I keep lists of things I need to do to help me from getting overwhelmed. And when I finish an item, it gives me great satisfaction to tick it off.

Never done a spreadsheet!

Spreadsheets are the only way I can keep things straight. I think my brain was built on Excel technology :lmao:...seriously...I do spreadsheets for everything. I have budget sheets, resort price comparisons, dining plan vs OOP comparison spreadsheets (showing % saved or not), itineraries, packing lists, attraction rankings (my MUST do's vs. if we have time)..... The list goes on and on.

My DBF thinks I'm crazy loco :rotfl2: and maybe I am! But he wasn't complaining when we saw/did a HUGE percentage of everything in every park, ate at 8 TS restaurants, and didn't wait in line for anything more than 20 minutes on our October 2011 trip! :thumbsup2

This is totally me! We could be twins I swear. And you are so right...they make fun of us until they see the payoff. Same thing happened to me in Feb. It was my family's first trip and they thought I was over planning soooo much...but everything went smoothly and they were so thankful to me afterwards. :flower3:

They say we all have a twin out there...now I can tell everyone I found mine! :cool1: My mom went with us last year. She had been to Disney at least 5 or 6 times over the years. She told me that she had never eaten so good and seen so much of the parks as we did last year. My grandparents however were plain exhausted! :crazy2: I did warn them of my commando touring in advance! ;)

We should all find a way to share our spreadsheets....like Google docs or something. I am sure there are some awesome spreadsheets out there just waiting to be discovered! :rolleyes1

Por and pofq...are they sister resorts ?

Hey There! I thought i would join in because I wanted to let you know that i am borrowing some of your saving ideas. I hope that's ok. As a single parent by budget is tight. I love Swagbucks! I use them to get amazon giftcards to buy my books for school in the past! OOO let me tell you! Target is bad BUT IN A GOOD WAY! I love me some target too. They get you because they always have those clearance end caps and stuff. It is more dangerous this month because i just moved and they have so much home stuff on sale. I got a mickey shower curtain that was 20 for 5 dollars!
