I'm about to book the 7-day Magic for March 22-28-03 and to get the connecting rooms to sleep the amount of people I want it puts us in rooms 1062 & 1064. We were on the Magic in 4-02 on deck 2 and we enjoyed it, does anyone have any experience with deck 1? These are cat 9. Looking at a map of the ship it seems like it would be quiet with only staterooms above us.

The only problem with Deck 1 Cat. 9s is that they have two SMALL porthole windows instead of the HUGE portholes you get on Deck 2. If that doesn't bother you then they're fine. :)

The Cat 9 on Deck 1 are great. We stayed in them in Feb and found the location on Deck1 the best for getting on/off the ship for shore excursions. No hassles, just walk down the hall and off the ship!!! We were always able to get an elevator and really liked the location.

We had always been in Cat 4's on Deck 8 before so we were not sure how we would handle the small port holes, but it worked out fine. there is so much Deck space on Decks 4,9,10 that we did not miss our own veranda too much.

We were in 1064 on the wonder. I didn't like it at all. The room was creaky and noisy. Not just when pulling into port but most of the time there was banging below and just loud noise.
The location wasn't bad. Very little traffic. The portholes were allright, up a deck the portholes were better.

I don't know about the magic but I heard the ships are basically the same format.
