Well the ds have already ruined all their uniforms, l of the 3 of them left a nice pen in the pants. This is what happens when I ask them to be responible and do the laundry for once. I have like $600 bucks of uniforms that are ruined and picture day is tomm. I am sick. The stains are set since the clothes have been in the dryer. I went to google and see too many things, like alcohol based hair spray, nail polish remover, vinegar, palmolive etc. So anyone have experience. I would only want to try a few things but for the money those clothes cost me, I guess I would try more, so if someone could help, thanks!

I have had LOTS of success getting ink stains out of natural fabrics by using rubbing alcohol and hairspray, however, it does NOT come out if the stain has been washed and dried. Sorry to be be the bearer of doom, but I doubt you will get it out now. Especially, since I am sure the pants will be a cotton/blend fabric.

Personally, I have had good luck with using hairspray to remove ink stains. You spray it right on the spot and let it soak in for a few minutes b4 putting it through a regular wash cycle. You definitely wanna try a hairpray that's alcohol based. If that doesn't work try "Carbona Stain Devils" for ink spots. You should be able to find them in the local grocery store in the laundry/cleaning aisle. I just used a Carbona Color run remover a couple of weeks ago on pants that had picked up some stray color in the wash and had gone through the dryer. The remover took out ALL of those spots, PLUS ink that had gotten onto the back pocket of the pants 3 years ago. So I'd definitely give their ink devil a try.

If you do get the Carbona, you'll wanna wait till the weekend to try it, as my pants had to soak for several hours b4 running them through the wash cycle, and it may be the same directions for the ink remover. BTW, I'm a Queen of Clean(Linda Cobb) fan, pick up her books on cleaning and laundry. You'll be amazed at the stuff you can use for cleaning that you already have in the house. Her laundry book is where I learned about Carbona.

I got a pen mark out by just soaking it in Oxy-Clean (for several hours). It was just a line about 2 inches long, not a big spot. Also, it hadn't been through the dryer, but it still might work. Good Luck!

My dd drew on her white pants with pen and it went through the washer and dryer without my noticing. I put an oxy clean mixed with water paste on it and left it for three hours and it faded considerably and came out in some places. You can use oxy clean on colors too!
