I searched and didn't see this already posted but I apologize if it has been.

ING usually has some great promos on Black Friday. One they are running right now is if you open a free checking "Electric Orange" and you make 5 purchases with your free debit card, they will deposit $107 into your account in 50 days or by January 17th I believe. I've had a savings account with them for years and actually love them. I opened the free checking so I'll get the $107 deposit and then I opened my husband an account with them and he'll also earn $107. Not bad for "free" $214.00!!! :cool1::banana:

They also have a kids and teens account incentives as well.

Here is the link: http://www.ingdirect.com/blackfriday/

I hope this helps someone :)

Thanks Heather!

I looked at it, briefly, and it seems that it's a free checking account too! I may have to do this. I could use an extra $107!! :santa:

Scored with ING this year! Heard about their Black Friday offerings late last year and missed out. But this year, I remembered to logon with them today. I ended up scoring almost $250 in account bonuses. I opened a new Orange Direct checking for DH off of his savings account ($107 bonus). Then, I opened a joint teen "MONEY" account with my DS ($32 bonus). To finish it off, I started four kids' savings accounts for each of my youngest ($27 bonus EACH). Yes, I know there are use requirements/deadlines for the new accounts in order to earn the bonus amounts, but keeping track and looking forward to all bonuses being deposited by early January. More money for Mickey! :goodvibes

FYI, I looked around and this looks like this may do a hard pull on your credit when you open the account. That may not be worth the $107.

Yeah, their FAQ says that they may or may not do a hard pull on your credit and could reject you based on the result. But I'm not worried about it. If you have a good credit score, it's not a significant hit to take. That is, if they bother to do it at all.

I got their email this morning and opened a checking account. I used my ING savings account to fund it with a small deposit. Was considering a second checking account to be able to write checks off of savings when I need to. With ING checking, I can move the money from ING savings into checking and it's there immediately. When I moved money from savings into my TDBank checking account, it could take up to 5 days before I could access my money.

Thanks OP! I've been meaning to look into ING since my brother loves them, but Chase has made life easy having everything in one place since they bought our mortgage and credit cards out ...
The $107 was definitely a great incentive to move some of our savings into another bank!

So, I already have money at ING in a few savings accounts, including a savings account for my kids. I could move some money into these new accounts (checking and teen) and get the bonuses (if I make the required purchases).
And I can just not use the checking regularly after that right?
Heck, my son is 18, he could get the checking instead of the teen account?

Bumping this up...

Happen to know if there's a minimum balance you need to start with?

And after you open it, how easy is it to transfer money into the account? I'm just not used to banking only online... I usually make my deposits in a brick and mortar building.

As far as I know, there is no minimum. I put $25 in my DH's and $100 in mine from my savings.

I have my current savings account with ING linked with my BofA checking and can deposit locally to my BofA and then transfer online to my ING savings. There is a message that displays when the funds will be available and it usually is several days later. I'm not sure what their process is for depositing directly into the checking account but I'd think it wouldn't be too complicated :thumbsup2

Just curious - has anyone that set up a new checking received a phone call from ING? We did on sat and the message said they were verifying info almost like fraud prevention. We left a message for a callback. I feel pretty certain it was ING since it was from MN and the toll free number provided was registered to ING.

You beat me to it! ;)

We also got ours deposited yesterday!! It was very easy and I've been pleased with ING since I opened an account with them several years ago.

Take care,
Heather
