After 20 pages, I highly doubt I could add anything to the conversation that hasn't already been said. I'm a "less, but more reliable, information" guy, but I will say that one of the really, really annoying side effects of "less information" (and it's not even DCL's fault) is that people start to fill in the gaps of info with conjecture and hypotheses backed by "evidence" that is specious at best, and at worst, non-existent.
I mean, how many times over the last year have you seen a tweet, post or blog article (and not just on The DIS) along the lines of:
"I saw a photo of cast members putting a fresh coat of black paint on the Dream's hull. COULD A FULL RETURN TO CRUISING BE JUST AROUND THE CORNER?!?!???!?!??!?"
or
"I just tried logging into My Castaway Club account and got The Seven Dwarves. IS DCL UPDATING THE SITE BECAUSE THEY'RE ON THE CUSP OF MAKING A HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT?!?!?!??!?!?"
In other words, this (but not nearly as funny):
You start reading an article where the headline seems like it has legitimate, verifiable, substantive new information, and then halfway in, you find the author's just jumping at shadows and clinging for their life to the most minute pieces of information as "highly indicative" that what they want to happen is about to happen.
I guarantee you that DCL wants every one of us back on their ships ASAP, spending our money on their overpriced cruises. I want cruising back ASAFP, too, but I really wish people would stop with this Pepe Silvia-level nonsense.
