Has anyone used this facility. We went last year for the first time with our DD who was then 2 but I never saw anything around World Showcase. I have been to Epcot loads of times previously to having my DD and also did not notice where or what the Kidcot Funstops involve.

Any info appreciated

DD loved the kidcot stops around the world showcase. It seems as if you can buy a "passport" which you get stamped at each country or you can get a mask (free) which you colour in at each country plus get a stamp and a paper tassle.
There is a Kidcot station in every country, they are just a table with colouring pens with a CM, who doles out the stamps.
It`s a good way for kids (and adults) to see the world showcase as the mask/passport holds their attention.
To do it all would take a couple of hours. It`s not just for kids though I saw a few adults getting their stamps! Plus my DD is 17 so probably not a kid either.

We just got back and my DD6 loved the kidcot stations. They now also have one in The Land and at Test track.

And the Living Seas (well it did before it closed for refurb!)

My DDs who were 8 & 5 at the time got so much out of doing this. I really recommend it to keep the World Showcase interesting for them :)

There are two main things for kids to do at Epcot - these are Kidcot and World Passport .

We've done over the last couple of years and even took part in the pilot scheme of kidcot a few years back.

Things may have changed slightly but this is what used to happen: -

Kidcot

At each "land" you can pick up a mask to decorate - you only need one to continue during the day. At each of the lands you have the opportunity to colour the mask with crayons and receive a paper punch-out or trinket to add to the mask. The wooden handle is also stamped with the country you have visited.

World Passport

This is available from many of the Epcot shops and costs about $10.

In the pack you have a passport, large pin badge and country stickers.

As you go around the lands you place the stickers in the right place and have your name or a greeting signed in the book from the country you are in.

The Epcot park map now shows where the Kidcot stops are.

The passports have been available for about 20 years - I had one all that time ago! Back then you had to visit a specific store to get your stamp and a message written inside your passport.

Now they have set up the Kidcot's, it is a great way to have a little break and gives kids a chance to meet people from all around the world. Last Christmas, my DD3 received a small poster for completing her mask at her final "country" around WS. She had great fun colouring and many older kids were very artistic and creative. We saw some very cool masks - DD's mask was just a mass of colours everywhere! :rotfl:

Thanks for the info. Will take DD3 to the Kidcots as it sounds like a great way to keep them interested whilst walking round World Showcase.
