Info on Davenport

So we are staying in Davenport in 11 days and I was just wondering if anyone had any info they would like to share. We are going to be right off 27 about 3 miles north of I4. I see there is a publix just north of us and a super target south, so we are covered there. What would the best way to get to Disney property be, just take I4?

Which subdivision? When we have stayed over that way we took Westside/Avalon to Hartzog and went in the western entrance to Disney. It is very low traffic once you get on Westside. I think you will have to plug in your address on Google maps and see which is faster. If I4 has traffic then don't go that way.

West Stonebridge. Google maps is sending me south on 27 to I4 and then up to World Dr.

Welcome to Davenport! I would just go 27 to I-4 to World drive. This time of year the I-4 traffic won't be too bad if you get off at World Drive. I-4N will get stop and go further north. Keep this in mind if you plan to head up to Universal or Seaworld. Glance at Google Traffic around the times you plan to be traveling to get a sense of the traffic patterns.

Another alternative is to head south on 27 and turn left onto Ronald Reagan and then left into Champions Gate and get on I-4 at exit 58. Shaves a few miles of the I-4 portion of the trip. However the Champions Gate area can get congested during morning rush hour so I suspect just taking 27 down to I-4 would be just as quick.

Looks like you have the shopping figured out. We stop at that Publix from time to time. There is also a Super Walmart further up 27 just north of 192.

I will be staying in sandy ridge neighborhood this year. I don't remember the development I was in last year but I do remember that after you came around that bin of I-4 onto 27, the next left was at a gas station and we were back there. I was fairly closes to a walmart so does anyone know where Sandy Ridge is in reference to the walmart on 27? Thanks

Traffic is always backed up on the I4.
You could travel North on the 27, and then make a Right onto Florence Villa Grove, a left onto Westside, and then a Right onto 192. Then follow the Disney signs. Our place is on the 27 and we find this is the quickest way to get to Disney.

It sounds like you are off of Exit 60 of I4 the intersection of 429. I agree with the other posters the next exit on east bound I4 is Exit 62 which is World Drive. You will see the Mickey shaped power tower. It will take you straight in the main entrance to WDW.

From my maps the Sandy Ridge development is on Osceola/Polk Line Road about 1.2 miles east of I-4 exit 58, the Champions Gate exit. The Walmart up on 27 is not particularly close, Google maps says it is about 13 miles away. Osceola Polk Line Rd west through Champions Gate to Ronald Reagan Parkway west to 27 north.

Actually you would be just a bit closer in mileage to the Walmart up on Vineland Rd in Kissimmee though I would probably opt to go to the one on 27.

In Sandy Ridge you are very close to a Publix at the intersection of Osceola Polk Line Rd and Lake Wilson Rd. For general shopping you are closer to the Target in Posner Park on 27 just south of I-4. It would be about 8 miles either via back roads or by hopping on I-4 and going south one exit.

Yes, Sandy Ridge is in the 33896 zip code which is part of Davenport. Though to be fair, it is a bit far from "downtown Davenport".

From Sandy Ridge it may be faster to go Old Lake Wilson to Sherberth to get to Disney.

We are here now and enjoying our place very much. It looks like tonight we will be having dinner out of the world. I've seen a lot of typical chain places but any suggestions for places we might not know of?

not sure what hotel you are staying in but i've stayed at days inn, travelodge, and holiday inn express (not sure if its a different name now) and have enjoyred them all. they are the ones right when you get off I4.

i recommend grabbing a bite to eat at that specific Waffle House.
we've been to a number of them and that one is literally THE BEST for food and service.

there's also a couple of strip plazas one of which has a t-shirt store with plenty of cheap disney souvenirs.
we've gone there for years and the owners know us.
there's also a pizza place in the other part of the plaza i can't recall the name but the pizza is amazing.

i absolutely love davenport and i'm glad to hear you are enjoying yourselves!
