I am planning to go to cirque on my solo trip, but need some more information.

1)I see from there website there are 3 seating categorys, any pros and cons on which to book.

2)Is it easy to book online or better to wait until i get there?

3)If the peformance starts at 6pm what time do you have to be there and what time does it finnish.

Any other information or comments most welcome. thanks ali.

I'd be interested in this as well as we plan on seeing Cirque in September. Did you see it on TV yesterday?

We have been to Cirque and sat in Cat 3 in the middle and absolutly loved it. There is not a bad seat in the house if you ask me. I like being towards the back cause you can see all the action clearly and your not having to stare straigh up to view.

We went in the middle of the week so it wasn't that busy. They allowed us inside to see the seat and thats when we decided to go with Cat 3 and save the money.

I would agree that there isn't really a bad seat in the house. The theatre was designed specifically for Cirque and as such they took great care to try and make sure no seats have blocked views of any of the stage. But still saying that, some are better than others.

Obviously centre seats give you a better view. As to being in the first tranche of seats, which give you a closer view of the action on stage, or being in the second, which gives you a more overall view of the show I don't think either is a better choice, just a little different. The downside of being close is that there is so much action going on ALL OVER the stage, that you do miss a little of the periforal action, obviously the downside of being a little further back is that you don't get such a concise view of what you do see. IMHO the seats I prefer are the first 4/5 rows of blocks 203,204 and 205.

I would book before you go in order to give yourself the best chance of getting your seat of choice.

I would plan to get there in PLENTY of time, IMHO there's no downside on being early, you can wander along downtown Disney, check out the cirque shop ( it's mobbed after the show , so any shopping is best done before the show). The show lasts for about 2 hours, depending on your preferences you could get to DTD early and eat there before the show, eat after the show (again it gets busy with people clearing out so try to book a table or get your Nike athletic shoes on and be out of the theatre like Linford Christie out of the blocks LOL) or drive down to Crossroads after the show. If you decide to eat after the show, you probably won't be eating until 9.00. With the cost involved, you certainly don't want to have a problem in transit and end up missing the show. :guilty:

Many thanks for replies, I was thinking of combining a day at DTD shopping, a meal then on to the show.

After watching the planning video (admittedly after a couple of post-Christmas Baileys) DH decided he really wanted to go to the show too. Then I added up the cost which calmed him down a bit. On the other hand its certainly a special show and if you're spending all that money anyway trying to save money by missing out seems almost pointless.

These comments have all been really helpful to me - thanks for starting the thread! :flower:

We went to Cirque for New years eve in dec 03, we were told the best seats were taken only to find when we got there we were in the centre on the very front row, was amazing because the cast kept looking and smiling to us...must say cirque was one of the best things and well worth the money, we've even booked to see them in Birmingham in March! :cheer2:

Looks like one to plan for then - thanks for that!
