My parents are looking to take my family and my brother's family to Disney and told me we would be staying at Bonnet Creek Resort, I found just a little about it online, Does anybody know more or has stayed there? Thanks!

I will be staying there in April but I gathered the following during my search for a place to stay.

This property was built in 2003 on 46 acres that Fairfield acquired in the 480 Bonnet Creek Resort development. This 480 acres is a parcel of land located WITHIN WDW just north of Epcot. Several sources on the Net have said the up to 3000 hotel rooms may be built in this area. Soon you may have several choices for on-site hotels that are not disney owned.

Anyway, below is a link to the Resort website, which I think is short on info. There is also a link to some photos someone took during a stay and a link to a map which shows the resort's location. Hope this helps.

are you staying on an exchange?

fairfield reps like to say they are the only company that has a partnership with disney and that Bonnet Creek is on Disney property.....got that spiel from reps in Branson and Las Vegas...

although they are close to disney....they have nothing to do with disney .....but disney had to provide them access to the property and signage which is a distinctive different color than the regular disney signage

I am not staying on an exchange, but rather, I found the unit on the TUG classifieds.

From the research I've done it sounds like a pretty nice option.

They have a shuttle that take people to the TTC - not as often as if you were staying with Disney - but at least from what I gathered it's the only property on the shuttle. It drops only at the TTC - but in the afternoon and even picks up from all 4 parks.

It is still not completely finished - but apparently the main pool and lazy river are complete. There are no "restaurants" at the moment, but the way I look at it in our case we'd have a car, so DTD is not that far, nor other restaurants off property.

The decor looks lovely - granted, not themed, but very pretty none the less.

While technically it is NOT Disney property - it is completely surrounded by Disney property.

I've read comments on other boards that there are two "views" - one is of the lake - the other is a "parking lot view" ... but from some of the units of the larger building you can see the fireworks over Epcot - and someone saw a special fireworks display over MGM as well over the holidays.

We're looking at this as an option if my sis-in-law can get an exchange for us. I like the idea of being so close - yet not having the cost involved in staying "on property"... we'll see. :earseek:

The TUG is the Timeshare User's Group website. No membership is required to use the site. I found it during a Google search for the Farifield Bonnet Creek Resort. Anyway, the site has a classified ad page that listes timeshare properties for rent by the owners. There is a link below to the site and the classifieds.

One of the maps linked to on this thread is not quite right, Bonnet Creek Resort is south of Epcot and next to Caribbean Beach resort (turn right out of CBR's driveway onto Buena Vista and next right is BCR.)

I couldn't find room rates although I believe that Disney's moderates (such as CBR) would cost less for non-timesharing visitors.

As far as I know, the land is not Disney land, and the only relationship is that Disney has to provide access onto Disney roadways and cannot require any conformance to Disney theming. I suspect that in the future Bonnet Creek could have Disney transportation (like non-Disney hotels Swan and Dolphin) and/or participating in extra magic hours, both of which require payments to Disney.

At the time you book any non-Disney hotel, verify what transportation schedules and options they have, and find out the total price including parking fees, resort fees, etc. These may change from time to time.
