I apologize for this question because I'm sure the answers are already posted somewhere but I'm not doing a good job finding them!

We've cruised DCL before, but just booked our first trip on the Magic for March 3 this year. It's been a long time since we've done such a short trip, been on a classic ship, or booked a GTY room, and I'd really appreciate getting some basic info for planning purposes since this is rather last minute, by my normal standards!

1. Do you generally get room assignment about 2 weeks prior to the trip?
2. What is dining rotation on the 3 night (itinerary is a day at sea and CC, no Nassau stop)? And there is no formal night, right?
3. Show schedule - Which 3 are currently running and what nights (if that is a constant)?
4. Is there a pirate night on a 3 night? If so, which night?
5. Who is current cruise director?

We've already checked in and booked our PAT at the earliest time available, which was 1 pm. Is boarding generally open by then or are they still calling by groups? We're typically there early enough to board in Group 3, so this is new to me too.

Thanks so much for any help!

1. Room assignments on guaranty bookings differ depending on what type of guaranty booking you have. GTY (as in as specific category guarantee - 4B, 9C, whatever) tend to be assigned about 45-60 days out. Last minute restricted guarantees (IGT, OGT, VGT) tend to be about 10-14 days out. That being said, any guarantee can be assigned at anytime from the day the reservation is originally made up to, and including, embarkation day.
2. The rotation would probably be 123, in the order of Lumiere's followed by Animator's followed by Carioca's. So LAC; ACL; and CLA. There may be a Dress Up Optional night on night 3.
3. Twice Charmed, Dreams, and Tangled.
4. Usually on night 2.
5. Don't know this one.

4. Is there a pirate night on a 3 night? If so, which night?
Pirate Night is never the first or last night of a cruise. This is due to luggage delivery on the first day and luggage pick up on the last night.

When we went last year Brent was our cruise director, not sure if he still is, but hes excellent!

No, Brent is no longer a Cruise Director. He's working at California Adventure in CA now. I like Brent also, we had him on our first 3 cruises.
