Inflatable Lawn Decorations

there is a house about 30 minutes from my house, that has at least 25 inflatables, they have them on the 2 sides of their house that face the street{they live on a corner}

I don't mind the inflatables. In my neighborhood, it appears that we've been overrun with a lot of wire deer. They are literally in almost every other yard. Now that wouldn't be so bad, but it is hard to stake things down in Florida due to the sandy soil. Since it tends to be pretty breezy here, it often looks like there has been a mass slaughter of the poor little beasts. They are down everywhere!

I share a yard with my parents and they are nuts. I am ROFL at this thread, because every time I look up I see icicle light and 5 yes, 5 inflatables. They have the snowglobe, santa with rudoplh, a chrismas tree, a giant polar bear, and mickey with a candy cane. They also have giant snowflake in a tree and the inflables are surrounded by lights. Picture a corral. Oh and Mickey is surrounded by light up candy canes on the other side of the yard like he is in time out.

It is so tacky that we just laugh every time we see it. In their defense, we live on a huge lot and they stay inflated all day and night.

We have several houses in the neighborhood that have about 8 of them each.

One has a snowman and a Pooh. The snowman fell over the other night which made the Pooh lean over. You don't want to know what it looked like they were doing.

I'm part of the "don't like 'em" club.

ETA-I don't like them but I agree about decorating however you want to. If you like them then put them up. :flower:

I think they're cute, especially the snow globe ones. I don't like when people have too many, though, it doesn't look good. I don't think I'd ever spend the money on one, they're too expensive and I would be SO mad if someone popped it!

We have a snowman & Santa Claus. I like the globe but can't spend $159.00 on it.

I like them a lot! If you're going to decorate, do whatever floats your boat! Have fun! Be Merry! Be Tacky! Whatever! Be Happy!

We have a house that is built up on concrete pilings, about 15 feet up off the ground. We have a large front porch and are on a corner. On one end of the porch A jolly Snowman waves hello to all and facing the street a jolly Santa waves to everyone. When they are deflated they are on the porch floor and no one can see them or a pile or anything.

We have colored lights bordering our porch and staircase in straight lines. Our door looks like a Christmas gift.... covered with pretty green foil, gold ribbon and 3 gold bows where the ribbon intersects. It's very nice.

We gets lots of complements every year. We're in a neighborhood where homes range from $300,000 to 1 million. Most everyone decorates this way around here.

I am kinda sick of the white light reindeer, but again, if it's what *you* like, go for it! Life's too short!

About 5 years ago, when you couldn't even find these things, he had like 20 all over his lawn, on his roof, on top of his garage. If there was space, he had something inflated. Cars came from all over to look at the spectacle.

The next year when he put it up, someone slitted all of them. This happened in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

We have three and we like them, although they're not out yet. We'd like to get the snow globe, but it's a little pricey. I pretty much like all christmas decorations from 'tasteful' to 'tacky'.

I will never understand why some people are so rude about not liking something though. Some of y'all are kind of mean.

I agree! I'm not a fan of everyones decorating, but who cares. It's a couple months a year and it's all in fun. I've never really been an inflatable fan, but put one up this year for the kids in the family - they love the thing.

I don't like them! The snowglobe looked cool - at the store. When 5 people in your neighborhood have the same one - not so cool. I think they're just cheesy!

I have a penguin and I love him :goodvibes :goodvibes
and Im not afraid to tell the world!

( we need a sticking your tongue out smilie here)

Seriously whatever floats your boat, man. Have fun with it, if you cant now when can you?

ETA, I love the snowglobes, I havent seen any around here in the yards but I know they must be somewhere cause the stores are all sold out of them :)

I have a 9foot tall Mickey dressed as Santa on my fornt lawn as we speak, so need I say more?????? ;)

DH always says, "When it's a little past tacky it's just about right!" :teeth:

We have an 8' Santa, and the Griswolds next door have an 8' Santa, an 8' Frosty, and an 8' snowglobe. I want the snowglobe myself, but I'm waiting for the after-XMas clearance. I'm way too cheap to pay $150 for one! I like inflatables. They are just one facet of our very tacky XMas display. Of course, we can't hold a candle to the neighbors...their display is extraordinary :rotfl:

No, cause it would make their inflatables explode... :rotfl:

So its time to dress Mr. Inflatable Snowman in blaze orange and a Bass Pro Shop hat, and set him out on the porch with his gun...

Anybody else really dislike the large inflatable lawn Christmas decorations?

uuugghhh....yes, I think they look so tacky. A few years ago, a few houses here and there had them....now practically every other house has them...and has multiple ones!!!!! And now they pop up during Easter time, Thanksgiving time, football season, Halloween.....I wish they would just go away. If I were evil, I would run around and pop them all.....
:rolleyes1 :hyper: :crazy2:  :smooth:

I don't mind the inflatables in other people's yards but I would HATE one in my own! My dh LOVES the stupid things and I've had so many near escapes in my desperate quest to keep my yard inflatable free, lol. I don't know how much longer I can hold him back!
