Inflatable Lawn Decorations

We have three and we like them, although they're not out yet. We'd like to get the snow globe, but it's a little pricey. I pretty much like all christmas decorations from 'tasteful' to 'tacky'.

I will never understand why some people are so rude about not liking something though. Some of y'all are kind of mean.

I agree.

What a boring world we'd live in if we all had the same taste in decorations.

Yes. I think they're worse than those blasted "icicle" lights people leave on their gutters far too long......

That is a pet peeve of mine....people that still have their Christmas lights up in APRIL!!!!!!!

It sounds like alot of you would hate us then! :teeth:
We have a huge Pooh(over 6 ft tall), a smaller Tigger and a sleigh being pulled by Eeyore with another Pooh and Tigger in it out front right now. We also have a Dracula Tigger for Halloween! We love them!

Inflatables scare me. :scared1:

I am not a fan but not because I think they are tacky. I actually think they are kind of cute but I hate that they move! I don't like to see them waving in the wind. It creeps me out. I couldn't have one because I know it would give me nightmares. :scared1:

What's worse are those arm waving stick men that they use for advertising outside companies. Yikes!

It looks like the white light reindeer are all the rage in my neighborhood this year--I imagine that means that my neighbors are about a year or so behind the times, so we'll see the inflatables start popping up either next year or the year after that.

On a related note---does anyone else have a neighbor who decorates their house at night? I honestly don't know how he does it, but he's been out there after dark the past few nights adding stuff to the house. He's reached maximum decor & is currently out there trying to achieve "overkill". :rotfl:

I don't mind one, but we have people down the street that have about 15 of them in the yard. I keep waiting for someone with a BB gun to blast them.

I have a 3 foot tall Mickey sitting on my enclosed front porch.

I don't mind them as much as the maple, oak trees, etc that have usually white lights 'scribbling' through the branches. Looks like someone went out and threw them in the trees, and said........."Done".
Newest last year was the winding of maybe 2 strings of lights up tree trunks (about 5 feet).....looks unfinished.

I don't really care for the inflatables for my own yard (I really don't even have a yard though since I live in a townhouse). I like to look at other people's decorations though. Inflatables, plastic light ups, colored lights, they all make DS and I smile :) The brighter the better ;)

We don't put up the inflatables, but that doesn't mean I hate them or think they are tacky. I would never judge people by what decorations they choose to put in their yards. I like them all! Now, if they had garbage and junk in their yards, then you betcha I'd judge them, but an inflatable snowman, who cares. But let me tell ya, my kids LOVE those inflatables and they love the houses decorated with all of the colored lights. They think our house is boring b/c we just have one huge wreath over the peak of our garage and then small wreaths on each window. We did put colored lights on our light post though! :goodvibes

I live in the woods and have no real neighbors to speak of. I decorate for me, and apparently the deer! ;) I have a snomwan that I inflate because I like it. Plain and simple.

Oh that is my pet peeve! That's exactly what the city did. I mean it's nice that they put lights up, but it truly looks like someone walked by and just threw a strand up there. :confused3

I also hate those tree trunk "wrap" lights when people just do the trunk and nothing else. That just leaves me scratching my head... :confused3

Okay, I admit it, we have an inflatable in our front yard. It is Snoopy sitting on his dog house. We are the only ones on our street with an inflatable and I think it's cute. When we bought it, I mentioned to my DH that I was worried because it isn't sophisticated at all :rotfl: We decided it was fun and we like it. I only paid $50 for it, so if we only use it for a couple years, it will be fine.

I don't care for the inflatables, but what I dislike even more are those wire Christmas trees. I just think they are really ugly. I do think the inflatable snowglobe is cute.

See, I think the wrapped trunks look terrific! My neighbors do this and I think it really looks good.

Different strokes....

No inflatables in my yard though.

<------secretly just went outside, removed the inflatable and took down the haphazardly draped white lights in the bushes.......hope no DIS'ers have driven by the house....

We had a 12ft Santa last year. Yup DH has to go over the top on these things. Anyhow- I HATED the thing. It was so much fuss and work. If it snowed it would bend over like it was bowing. I just didn't care for it. Needless to say it's not up this year.

I don't like them either. Our next door neighbors have one. A giant snowman. The rest of their decorations are nice and then they have this stupid snowman. And during the day, the thing just lies in a lifeless pile on the ground.

OMG! I was just thinking of their "lifelessness" last night! My MIL got us an inflatable penguin. I don't really like it in my yard, because I spent a good amount of time getting the lights on the bushes "perfect", and now, half of them are blocked because of a penguin holding a candy cane. I unplugged the lights last night, and it was so sad watching Mr. Penguin "die". LOL!

MIL bought it, how can we not put it up? I do like them in other people's yard, I laugh at the snowmen when it is windy, it looks like they are dancing.

We own the Halloween Vampire Tigger....caught it on clearance this year. I can't wait to use it next year.

As for Christmas, we have let it be known that we want the Mickey sleigh and the penguin from Lowes. I am hoping that my inlaws come through, but there are always the after Christmas sales!

This year, with it being our first year here in our home, it's been a challenge to do all the things that we have wanted to do in the yard. I am hoping that we will be able to do more next year, especially since we should not be going to WDW at Christmas. I am sure that we will get it all decorated and tacky/beautiful for the neighbors to enjoy! Maggie
