Does anybody know if you have to buy a children's menu for infants? My son will be 13 months when we go and he eats so little that we just give him bit of what we're eating. will we be allowed to do that there, or will we be expected to buy him a proper meal?

Hey Tinkjon, This will be my first visit with my Son in August who will be 15 months. As far as I am aware, you do not have to pay for children under 3 at the buffets, etc. and I would have thought (and hoped!) that it is acceptable for them to eat from your plate.

As you say, they eat so little, I would be loathe to pay for an individual meal.

I'm interested in this as well, though my just 2 year old eats loads. She'd be alright eating off my plate in a buffet situation, but in a set meal there'd be nothing left for me! I understood under 3's were free for buffets, but wasn't sure what to expect if we did go somewhere else.

hiya
yes, infants eat for free at buffets, but sumwhere like annettes for instance, that is a menu, u will either have to share urs (we just ask for an extra plate) or buy a meal for the infant. we did have a bonus, at annettes when we went, we were given an extra dessert free for our 2 yr old!!
hope that helps

We had a 14 month old last Oct. She just picked at chips, bits of meat etc from our plates. We'll do the same this year when she'll be two.

The main thing we found was a big lack of fruit/veg. Even the fruit at breakfast was horrible tinned stuff in syrup. Luckily I'd packed some apples but this time I'll take some bananas, raisins and fruit pots too. I'm all for junk food myself but little uns can't live off it constantly :o)

I took lots of bananas, raisins and dried fruit bars with me. I agree, it does make a difference and you feel happier that they've had something 'healthy' ::yes::

That's great, I'm very glad to hear that we can share our food. Thanks everyone! And I couldn't agree more about the lack of fruit, it's shocking! When we went a few years ago, my daughter was so in need of some fruit that I resorted to buying a toffee apple and biting the toffee off myself! I called it a Disney Apple on A Stick :)

we always share with our littlest one. there's never been a problem. we do prefer the buffets though. lucky nugget, inventions and i think the buffet in newport bay have fresh fruit.
there was a huge bowl of strawberries in inventions last time i was there.
in lucky nugget i love the fruit salad with mint together with the raspberry coulis.
in cafe agrabah they had whole tangerines and orange slices marinated in cinnamon.
all the buffets seem to have loads of salad. i love the broad beans in cafe agrabah.
hth

Miffy, that's great - DS would happily eat nothing but orange and strawberries if I let him :) His face when you give him an orange is as happy as mine is when you give me a big G&T and a bar of Dairy Milk

Hmmm, this restaurant planning is not helping my WeightWatchers mission!

That's why I love the buffet meals as there's always lots of salad and fruit. I convince myself I can have yet another plateful if most of it's healthy! :lmao:
