Fort De Soto
True to a beach that has been ranked the seventh best in the United States, Fort De Soto Park offers 900 unspoiled acres and seven miles of beaches.
A unique area made up of five islands, the park features a fort built during the Spanish-American War on the largest of the islands, Mullet Key. Two fishing piers, camping areas, a concession stand, bathroom facilities and covered picnic shelters are available. Fort De Soto Park also offers a popular biking and skating trail as well as rental facilities for canoes, kayaks and bicycles. There is an 85 cents toll on the bridges leading into the park.

Accessible only by boat, this is one of the states few remaining undisturbed barrier islands and one of the nation's top-ranked beaches. Caladesi is ideal for swimming, shelling, fishing, picnics, diving and nature study.
