I am gift-hunting, and the requested gift is a case for a 2nd G 16g ipod touch. I know that's what the birthday girl is getting (the ipod), so I am to get the case for it.

I haven't ever owned an ipod touch. WHat's a good, inexpensive case to get (since I already got an itunes gift card)...say under $20?

And where is a good place to buy it...I prefer NOT to order online, due to waiting too long to do this, haha. But I will, if the deal is GREAT

I was looking at them in Best Buy last week, they have some nice ones for around that price

I have the Invisible Shield for my iPod Classic and have had it for 2 years. It keeps the iPod thin and I still have the availability to use the docking port, but it protects like crazy! I absolutely LOVE mine. While putting it on can be a pain, it is totally worth it at $25. I needed something that would protect my iPod while I could still use my FM transmitter that connected to the docking port. The thick plastic cases did not work. But this one does. And it is always protected, no matter what.

Check your Dollar Tree! They had a selection of nice Griffin Touch cases in a couple weeks ago. I don't even have a Touch yet, (but will soon), so I went ahead and bought a hard-shell leather one. Griffin makes nice cases, it's a great deal!

bestbuy.com has some iPod cases on sale right now for $9.

You might try Marshalls, TJ Max and Ross. I found a case by Speck for my Iphone 3Gs at TJ Max for $8 and a Tumi case for my Ipod Touch at Ross for $6. Of couse, there may be nothing in a store near you (which often seems to be the case when you ar elooking for a specific thing!). Best of luck -- Suzanne

I second the Dollar Tree idea! Just a few weeks ago, my local Dollar Tree had several nice Griffin leather cases for the iPod Touch. I purchased one even though I don't yet have an iPod Touch, it was such a deal.

I ended up going to Best Buy. I bought a leather portfolio case, for like $25. I took it to my friend's house, one who already has an ipod touch. She told me she has tried the case I bought, and that the ipod doesn't really fit in very well, that it sits a little crooked and its hard to plug headphones into the ipod while its in the case.

SOOOOOOO...she and I went online, and ordered Otterbox something-or-other from Amazon. Hopefully its here on time!

And I'll be returning the leather case to Best Buy!!!!

Although the OP already purchased a case, I thought I'd share where I found mine. I bought one from 5below. It was $5 and I'm happy with it so far. I looked around for a while and couldn't find anything relatively inexpensive (under $15).

They had silicone type cases that were 2 to a pack for $5. I got a plastic case that has rubber sides to make it easier to hold.
