My stomach is so upset right now. What can I do to help it? I don't think it's necesssarily from eating lots of protien because I've been low carbing it for 2 weeks now. My appetite is either ravenous or nothing! What's that all about? And- can I have pickles on induction? Do I count thsoe as carbs??? Ahhhhhhhhh- the little questions in life!

I suppose you could count a dill pickle as your one cup of vegetables, it is a cucumber, after all.

There is low carb and then there is induction. Were you eating more than 20 grams of carbs on your other eating plan? Give me an example of the foods containing carbs that you would have eaten in one day on the other plan.

I mostly ate a lot of meat, and I didn't care about the amounts- but that included jerky- which had 5 carbs per serving- I just used that in my 20 g carbs. However- on my other diet- veggies didn't count as carbs, but they do here. So- I suspect that my carb intake was truely higher then the 20g I'm having on Atkins! I did eat SF jello- used the cream whip , but didn't count the carbs and I ate nuts- peanuts, almonds and macademias'- but included those in the count as well. I noticed on Atkins- that's a no-no the first 2 weeks of induction. Atkins is definetly more strict then what I was doing, but what I was doing evidentally wasn't helping me at all! Well, that's not true- it brought ,my bs down, but I lost no weight on it!

That's what I thought.

Don't worry, you only have to stay on induction for two weeks. The withdrawal will go away in less than a week probably.

I'm still following induction because I want to lose a little more quickly still.

When you stop induction you will be able to add another 5 carbs a day each week and you will be able to eat your nuts and seeds again.

Hang in there. Go eat some whipped cream or something ;) As soon as you get into ketosis your appetite will go away, totally, I promise :)

I guess I can look at it this way- the last 2 weeks were in prep for this week and next! At least I'm not really craving the carbs! :p

Then you are very lucky! Make sure your blood sugar doesn't dip too low, though. You should probably check it frequently. If it gets low eat some cheese or protein.

Karen, I sent you a PM! :) It gets easier as the days go by!! :)
