Indianapolis Festival 500 Half - May 8th, 2010

I've been thinking about it. Right now, I am trying to figure out how to fit in the Disney half in January, maybe the Princess in March and the Disneyland half in September. (DD and I want that coast to coast medal!) But, Indianapolis is so close and so flat!! And I am always looking for another neat medal! This would be my first half to walk by myself. So, I'm still trying to make up my mind.

But Meg - you wouldn't be by yourself - there will be other WISHers in Indy and lots of us are walkers, chances are someone will be at your pace for at least part of the half.

Hmmm.....haven't thought about just walking it! I did this race this year after the WDW half, and walking/running it so soon was just too much! My time was terrible! I'll give this some careful consideration.

Oh boy! We'll get to see you again. Walking it could be a good way to stay loose so soon after your event. It should be fine on the knees that way. Nudge-nudge

I'm doing the Illinois half marathon the week before the mini and my plan is to walk in Indy. It is such a walker-friendly event and so much fun!

I live in Indy, and I am thinking about doing the Mini. I have never run before, except the Muddy Buddy last year, and I want to try to run/walk this one. I am starting my training now, so hopefully I will be ready.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I am interested. :thumbsup2

crazydisneyman..come on and join us!! You've got until November 30th for the cheap entry fee of $50!!

Hope to see ya there!

:goodvibes Anne

sign up soon! The past several years the race has filled up right around Thanksgiving.

Glad you found the thread Chris - my Muddy Buddy friend. This is a great group of people here.

Everyone, Chris called me over the weekend about this race, and I recommended he check out the WISH training boards. I told him how you all pulled me through my training for my first marathon at Disney in 07.

Looks like some of my favorite WISHers are running this one.

Does that mean you are going to join us Dave?
Not this year Frank. This race is on my radar screen because I have a lot of family in Indiana. However, I have some unfinished business with the Pittsburgh Marathon in May 2010.

I just saw your post on the Pittsburgh thread. That one is on my radar too. Anything close enough to drive is a must do at least once.

I guess I better hurry up and decide if I'm going to do this race. :scratchin

It sounds like it is going to be a fun event!! Cathy and I are registered for this one. I've really been looking forward to it and even more so now that my 'Goofy 2010' dreams have been squished. :-(

Thanks for the Reminder: I will think about it-it fills up and registrations closes early. It is a fun race I did it May 6, 2006

I was going to book a room at the Hilton - that's where everyone is...Correct?
It did not come up as a hotel option on the Mini Marathon Web site?
Sooooooooo what did you guys do to make the reservations?

Ok - I found my Indy folder and looked it up. The reservations are at the Hilton at 120 West Market Street. I followed the link on the race website.
We are going to have a great time, and the more the merrier.

I am at the Sheraton Indianapolis City Center at 31 W. Ohio Street. I was at the Hilton but when I switched from two nights to just one it was cheaper to go over there.

Looking forward to a WISH meet like we had at Nashville last year.
