For those of you who have flown IA recently, do they have some sort of policy that wheeled carryons have to be gate checked? (I think I remember reading this). And only smaller sized backpack type carryons can be brought to your seat because the bags have to fit under the seat?
Please set me straight, I've read so much lately, I'm confusing myself!;)
Thank you!

That is probably true.

Independence flys smaller jets and the overheads can't take the bigger carryons. However, they will bring them to you when you get off the plane when you land. No need to go to baggage claim to get them.

emagirl,

CarolA is right. Recently traveled round trip on I-air regional jets. Gate agents came through the terminal waiting area with gate check tags for all the wheeled bags and any others bags larger than what would fit under the seat.

If it fits under the seat, it will probably fit in the overhead bin ... but nothing larger will fit!
