Incident at resort. Troubled.

OP, all you had to do was ask.......

If I made a complaint while at Disney, how long does it usually take to get a response?

Now I'm sure there would be some people who would be asking if something happened, and you could have replied "I was just wondering what was standard procedure". So let me ask you OP, why all the unnecessary details to your cloak and dagger story?

It's your right to explain what happened or not, but shame on you for causing such a fuss. :sad2:
This.

I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip!

Just so I'm clear, when I say we won't be back, I mean won't be back to Disney resort property. We would probably make other arrangements and stay elsewhere. We just spent almost $10,000 on a trip. Like many of you, this is our hard earned money and DH can't justify spending it on a company that won't do anything about an incident like this.

 I go to WDW every year or so and can NOT imagine spending that kind of $$$!!!!!!!!!!!!! jeepers!

The OP's question boils down to this:

A complaint was made against a CM. A manager stated that the matter would be investigated. The OP wishes to know how long it will take to find out the results of that investigation.

In order to answer the OP's question, no details beyond what they've posted are necessary, and the OP is under no obligation to provide any.

First, 4 days is not nearly long enough to complete an HR investigation of a complaint against an employee, especially if the legal department becomes involved.

Second, legal/confidentiality rules will likely prevent Disney from ever telling you the outcome of that investigation. The most you'll likely ever get is "appropriate action was taken."

Did you ask for a follow-up call or letter? If not, I wouldn't expect to receive one.

First off why would you post something like that, and not give details. Why not just ask how long it takes to hear back about a comlaint, and leave it at that? She states she is not a troll, but I have my doubts. I agree with others this thread is pointless.

With the tens of thousands of people Walt Disney World employs, it's inevitable that a few stinkers will fly in under the radar. Hope everything works out for you.

I wish we could spend 10 grand on a trip!

My guess.... sexual harassment of some sort? (come on OP, obvi people are going to be making guesses even if its just in their head about what happened)

If something happened...racial slur..inappropriate touching...:confused3...it may be just me but I feel like I would need to get on these boards and let other disney guests know...sort of like a heads-up.

what if this so called castmate wasn't fired and did something else to another guests??? Sharing information helps other people have good vacations. Unless if it was matter with private details.

OP,
Sorry this happened, and I hope things work out .
If this employee is allowed to stay, is this something that "we" should be concerned about. My daughter, goes off on her own or with a friend, and I would like to know if there is something particular to worry about. Can you at least tell us if the employee, should have been arrested (was is that serious?)

I'm really hurt by some of these mean comments. I thought this was a supportive community.
If I had simply said 'how long does it take for a complaint to get followed up?' I'd be in the same debate as I am now. I just spent a while looking through old threads where people did that very thing and most ended up getting jumped on anyway.
So because I don't want to share all details, that makes me a troll? When I've posted many times in the past, sharing helpful or supportive things to others out there, for example about being a mother with a disability in dw, or being a nursing mother in dw? No, I'm no troll.
Should I be SO ashamed for not wanting to go into personal details on an internet site???? This situation is very specific and if a cm who knows about this reads it, they'll know in 2 seconds who I am based on the details.

The reason I don't want to get into is because it involves my daughter.

Now get off my back. And shame on YOU for making assumptions and criticizing someone when you don't know all the details.

The only thing thats been said that I agree with is letting you all know enough specific information for the goodwill of future guests...so once this is resolved I will do that.

Most. Pointless. Thread. Ever.

Actually, it is not. There is a poster who habitually creates posts like this. They never tell you any details. They never give you an update to let you know if things worked out. They just say something bad happened and they are not sure how they will ever survive. It ends up being a thread of :goodvibes:hug:and:confused:

Then you shouldn't have posted anything in the first place. Sorry if these posts come off as mean, but you asked for it. This thread would be dead and buried 2 pages back already if you had just asked "How long does it take Disney to respond?" Instead, you posted this dramatic back story, but aren't giving any details. How do you expect people to react? It's human nature. Sorry, but you're coming off like you just wanted attention.

Sadly, it's not hard to reach. We're spending 10 nights at the Polynesian in July. That's $4,500 right there. Add in another $1,800 for tickets and $1,300 for airfare, and we're already at $7,600. And that doesn't include the 6 days we're spending at Universal, Sea World and Busch Gardens. We'll be at $10K before we get there and eat one piece of food.

We did 7 nights at the Poly in August with QSDP and airfaire and it cost us about $5,000. Yep, on property stays CAN add up depending on where you stay, how you get there, and what you eat!

Scarlett81, they will do something about this. But having been at different times both a union rep and management in HR issues I know that this cannot be accomplished in 4 days and maybe not 4 weeks. From what you wrote, the resort has already shown they took it very seriously by how it was immediately escalated to a supervisor. It will be dealt with. But it will also can become a complicated union - management issue with laweyers, disciplinary meetings, grievances etc, etc. It can take a lot of time.

So don't harden your stance about things at this point. You have a right to be offended and hurt but you can take comfort by being absolutely sure it's being dealt with. No question about it. You will hear something later on and you can check call for follow up. But as others have said, be prepared for a very general response like "it was dealt with appropriately" because they likely will not be legally allowed to say anything els.

:thumbsup2 This.

OP: Yes, everyone is curious - goes with the territory. And you're right, you are under no obligation to provide details of what happened. But you have to know that posting the vagueness of something terrible happening would make people speculate as to what that was. Still, don't feel like you have to share. It's your business. I hope you get some answers - even if it's only to know that the situation was appropriately dealt with by Disney.

Enough. The OP's question has been answered, and no helpful purpose is served by continuing the argument.
