First off #1-We are huge fans, not trolls or lurkers trying to bash anything or get a free trip off Disney. This is a legitimate complaint towards what was otherwise a great trip. I have no doubt that our experience is the rare exception to the great Disney rule.

Secondly-I will not go into detail about the specifics of what happened, at least not now, until I can come to terms about how I feel about it. I don't want this to ruin the other happy memories we have of our trip.

We had a shocking incident with a staff member during our recent stay at a resort. A cm did something very innapropriate. It is hard for me to explain what happened without details, but I will only say that several other people witnessed it and confirmed it. And there are photos of what happened. It was/is not an accident, or a misunderstanding or anything of that kind.

So basically, DH and I thought about what we wanted to do instead of breaking out into an angry tirade. The next day I spoke with a manager type cm, who was shocked and sympathetic. That person guided me to another supervisor who was also shocked. That person guided me to another supervisor (apparently the 'head' of whatever department), whom I sent the photos to-bc that last manager had told me to do so. It has been 4 days and I haven't heard back yet.
We are home now. Now, like I said, one of the managers I spoke to apologized and said it would be investigated. How long do I wait? I haven't heard back yet. We're really upset by what happened, we had a great trip with our children, but this tarnished it to be honest. It was hard to enjoy the last 2 days of it. I'm really bothered...I love Disney so much. But after this, I don't think we'll be back at least not for a long long time. If this particular resort doesn't clear this up with me, I will not be back.

original answer: I don't think 4 days has been enough time to think they aren't getting back to you, especially given all the attention that was paid while you were there. It could take weeks for Disney to investigate, speak with HR, their attorneys, etc. and determine their next course of action, if there is one.

re-thought answer:
Are you sure they are intending to follow up with you? You didn't actually say that in your post. Did you ask them to?

The results of their internal investigation would most likely never be shared with you. So the only reason I could see them contacting you at this point is for additional information, or to offer you some kind of compensation.

So I'm not sure after re-reading your post that they would be contacting you again. Hard to say based on just what you posted.

It may take awhile. Send an email to guest services to follow up, and someone will call you. Sorry you had a problem, but glad you enjoyed the rest of you trip.

I am certainly not an expert on these things but I do think that the "legal" world we live in now makes Disney very careful not to do anything other than apologize. If the accept responsibility and liability they could be opening themselves up for legal problems. Glad the incident didn't ruin ur trip.

I have to agree; if there is an internal investigation, and the person is terminated, you will not be told that. This is confidential information that wouldn't be passed along to you.

Just so I'm clear, when I say we won't be back, I mean won't be back to Disney resort property. We would probably make other arrangements and stay elsewhere. We just spent almost $10,000 on a trip. Like many of you, this is our hard earned money and DH can't justify spending it on a company that won't do anything about an incident like this.

With all due respect, if you're not going to tell what happened, I would just drop it. Nobody can give you advice on something without knowing what you're talking about.

They most likely will not get back to you at all and even if they do it will be along the lines of "We have dealt with the situation" and no details. This is because they simply can NOT tell you what happened. There are rules and policies in place to deal with these sorts of things, but one of the big ones is privacy. Every company I worked for had a rule in place that we could not tell a customer what happened, just that something has been done. In other words, I could not tell you a person was fired or written up. All I could say is that things were taken care of by company policy.

It's not that they "won't do anything about an incident like this". I doubt they are sitting on their hands and not doing something about it (whatever IT is... hard to make a fully educated answer without details). It's just that you might never know exactly what they do.

a CM stole your panties?

whatever happened, it is just as likely or probably more likely to happen at any other hotel/resort.

The OP's question boils down to this:

A complaint was made against a CM. A manager stated that the matter would be investigated. The OP wishes to know how long it will take to find out the results of that investigation.

In order to answer the OP's question, no details beyond what they've posted are necessary, and the OP is under no obligation to provide any.

First, 4 days is not nearly long enough to complete an HR investigation of a complaint against an employee, especially if the legal department becomes involved.

Second, legal/confidentiality rules will likely prevent Disney from ever telling you the outcome of that investigation. The most you'll likely ever get is "appropriate action was taken."

Did you ask for a follow-up call or letter? If not, I wouldn't expect to receive one.

OP unless something happened to you directly, that directly impacted you, your finances, your safety, your well being specifically and impeccably I doubt you will hear back as quite frankly it doesn't concern you specifically other than you bringing something you witnessed to someone's attention. If this occurrence was just something you witnessed down the hall, etc it has no implicit impact on you other than your personal reaction to whatever you saw.

I am sorry you had a bad experience, but I am not sure of the purpose of a post like this. Are you trying to issue a warning??? Against what?? If you don't provide details, then I'm not sure what the purpose is. It's not like the resort is going to read this, and decide to "compensate" you for the incident, you need to follow up with the resort itself. :confused3

Oh my word, that's a lot of money to spend on a Disney trip! :scared1:

^ I agree.

Uhhh... details, please?

I would like to give Disney a chance to take care of it before bashing them on the internet. I'm hoping this will have a happy ending of sorts for me to post at some point. (trying to be fair)
I wish I would be told if this person gets terminated. I understand that they wouldn't release any names of course. Even if they just assure me that this was "handled"..in whatever sense. I understand they have legal considerations though. Thanks for pointing that out to me. Honestly in a way that makes me feel better, I can adjust my expectations. Perhaps it was/will be handled but I won't be told how.
I'll follow up with them at some point to confirm they have the correct information and then see what happens.

It's not bashing Disney. You're just telling what happened. :confused3
