Incentives for 100 pt purchase

Tozzie, you are correct. This is our first purchase into dvc. I was told by a "senior representative" from dvc that what we are getting is the only incentive they have right now for 100 point new purchase (the $8 off per point and the $500 downpayment). He also said that the 100 point minimum purchase would expire pretty soon, as that was only a "summer special".
We will aslo get 100 points for 2008, as they had only 69,000 points left for purchase for 2008 (as of last saturday), then they will start with 2009 points then.

Please do not be offended by this comment, but for someone about to close you sound very confused about things. DVC can be confusing. There is nothing with calling your guide again and asing him/her to explain things from the begining. And yes, this is an incentive that has an expiration. Be sure you are getting 2008 points, and besure you are paying $96 a pt after incentives, and do not forget to ask about your gift card.

I didn;t do the math ..but I am wondering if it would be a good deal to buy 100 pts and then immediately do a 100 point add-on?..would you get a "better deal" than just buying the 160 pts?..anybody thought about doing this?

no offense, i just want to make sure we are getting everything offered.
we are getting the 2008 points, the $8 off per point (making it $96 per point), and the lower downpayment of $500, that is it. i just did talk to my guide again, and that is all they have for a new 100 point purchase.

Also - thank you for clarifying the current incentives for purchasing direct through Disney. Not sure I could make a case for resale with these kind of incentives.

Does anyone know - can we request certain guides? Or do we just get who we get, and hope for a good one?

You can get the phone number of guides from members here. There are plenty of us who would be more than happy to refer you to our guides. I have been happy with my guide and would not hesitate to refer others to him. I would be happy to send you his name and phone number if you want it.

Call Megan Moriarity, (tell her Jor from Long Island sent you). She is a sweet woman. I have worked with her since 1999. She is a senior guide and knows her stuff. She is good at returning phone calls.

If you have any difficulties getty a hold of Pinnochiodads guide you can try mine ...Larry Hope....senior guide....direct line x-xxx-xxx-xxxx....Denise and Don B from Wasaga Beach Ontario if you need it. He's a great guy, saw us through the tour 3 consecutive years in a row before we bought and remembered us each time. Outstanding guy....just added on with him 2 days ago. Have fun!

If you bought from Disney you should have received the following incentive:
1) Reduced $500 down payment
2) matching developer points to be used at SSR, DL, II
3) $8 off per point ($96)
4) Disney Visa gift card ($500 for every 100 pts that you buy)
5) If you bought AKV, 2008 plus 2009 points with no MF's due till May 2009.

Question - is this incentive for a 100 point add-on to any resort, including BWV? (obviously number 5 only applies to AKV)
