Welcome to Bunnymom and family. Ask away with the questions, we will help as we can.

I will also be on the 5/11 inaugural. According to Disney, they are no where near sold out for this sailing. It will be me (24), my dh(24) and my dd (6). We are all looking forward to the trip very much. This will be our first cruise, so we have no idea what to do. Maybe we can run into some DIS members who can give us pointers..lol.

You guys are great.

Thank you,
Jennifer Perez

Hi Bunnymom:wave::wave::wave:

Welcome to the boards. :) If you start reading this May 11 thread from the beginning you will find out a lot about us nuts (me anyway). We plan on having a great time even in the lime green tshirts.:sunny:

Hope you have lots of ?????s, Lots of questions = lots of posts = more numbers on the board, have to catch the "other" group.
:D

Scott: Great idea, will bring her suit, even if it keeps her from getting sunburned? I think I will bring my jetski one? Hope they dry out in time to pack. If not then we bring big ziplock baggies!

WDWGoose ya still here? How we gonna get you the money for the shirts? You gonna set up a mail order business? Let us know?

Robin you hosting the Friday chat? Have my chinese order in for the evening. Wonton Soup ok? Scott has been studying for the quiz. I am still reading the DCL brochure (why I don't know). If not then its ok as long as you do not get in trouble. watch the time on the soccer games....

Printing up my Tip Envelopes tonight and stuffing them tommorrow:earsboy:

How many days? One is too many...........
:jester: :jester: :jester:

Taking a study break........

We have 69 days till we leave, wishing it were tomorrow. Cold with strong winds. I think I got cabin fever.

Water temps off the FL coast were about 72 today. Should warm up more by May. Grand Cayman and Cozumel should be much warmer.

Big welcome to all the new folks....... Don't let the previous posts chase you off. :jester:

Lynn is working on our own walking tour of Key West. I want to go back to the Islands where the shrimp boats tie up to the pilings. Guess I have been listening to way too much J Buffett. Never too much Buffett!!!!!

Glad to hear from everyone again! It was getting a little quiet!

Bunnymom, our son will be nearly 9 when we go (turns 9 in August). If you want to do some e-mailing with the boys, feel free to send us a PM (Just click the PM button in this post, and it will pop up with our e-mail address). Our son's name is Casey, so have him put "For Casey" in the subject line, and I'll have him open it up!

Goose, I was wondering on the shirts as well. We're going to want 4 of them. Let us know how you want to handle the $ and the distribution (Somehow I don't think you're going to want to pack 100s of lime green t-shirts!)

One of the DC area radio stations was broadcasting from the Wonder this week, and they said it was pretty cold! Somehow, I don't think this will be a problem for us!!

Can't wait!!

The cruise is not almost sold out???? We the DCL website will only sell you a Cat 8, 10 or 12.

As for Chat - I fully expect to be there tonight. No cub scout meetings to run long tonight. so everyone come on to chat. Joe be sure to order me a plate of Moo Goo Gai Pan. :D

When I booked my cruise on Monday, they still had plenty of 6,9,10, and 11's. Maybe their has been a rush to get rooms in the last 4 days???

Sorry if I misinformed everyone.

What is this about a chat tonight? Can anyone join in? I would be interested in meeting some familiar people on the cruise.

Thanks,
Jennifer

Good Morning!

Why does the Disney website only offer category 8's now if they have plenty of other category cabins available? If you want to upgrade and there is available cabins will they upgrade you with STM price even though is not offered anymore?

Chat tonight is Cruise Chat. It starts at 9:00 eastern. If you go to the DIS homepage and find the Community/Misc pull down on the left side of the screen. There should be a link to the chat room. Others may have something better as far as descriptions and directions.

I am sure there will be some 5/11 westerners there.

Thank you all for the warm reception!
My name is Terry(42), my DH is Pat(44) and our DS is Ian(9).
Our first question.......would it be wise to fly in the night before the cruise and spend the night in Pt. Canaveral? Or is there plenty of time to get from Orlando Int'l to the ship?
If we should stay over, where?
Thanks again,
BunnyMom
(Terry)

I feel flying in the night before is the safest bet. You never know what can happen to delay a plane.

We are staying at the Radisson in Port Canaveral.

Alot of others I'm sure are staying at Radisson also pre night, WDWgoose, Joe and Joanne for sure, anyone else? We are also hoping to plan a DIS get together by the pool pre night.

Hi Terry!

In my opinion, I think you should probably fly in the night before. It will save you LOTS of worries about delays, etc.

We are coming in on a 9 something pm flight, so we opted to stay in Orlando and drive over in the morning. In my bargain shopping on line, it seemed like the cheaper prices for hotels were in Orlando (probably lots more competition for the tourist $). I'm a little leary of the priceline/hotline thing because it seems like they are non-refundable, and I wanted to know what hotel I was getting. With that being said, I was able to book the Amerisuites at the airport, which provides a hotel shuttle and full breakfast for $65. There were lots of better prices out there, but I wanted that free breakfast, and didn't want to take a risk on a Day's Inn (I've had good ones and REALLY BAD ones!). Barb (who posts a lot on this board) says she routinely gets the Amerisuites via hotwire for $33. Whatever you do, just keep asking if that's the best rate they can give you. Don't be shy about mentioning prices you see on this board, and associations (like AAA or govt employee) that will get you a price break. Sometimes, they'll match a price to get your business.

If we were getting in a little earlier on Friday, I might have been tempted to drive on over to the Port, but I think this way by the time we finish breakfast, maybe take a quick swim, etc we'll get to the port at just about the right time to board right away.

I would also concur with the other on flying in atleast the day before. In this day and age of flight delays it is worth the peace of mind.

The Raddison is a nice place. We have stayed there several times and the shuttle to the port is very convient.

I am working on organizing DIS meets and sailaway party celebration for the April 20th cruise. We have ordered green leis to wear to recognize each other at the port and during the sailaway onboard. They were very inexpensive and are running around $22 including the shipping for 100 of them.

I also found a website where I can order lanyards (green ofcourse) with attached hooks and holders for the KTTWC's. They sent me a sample and they look very nice. My minimum to order for the lanyards is 100 and the card holders, I must order 150 minimum. The green color is more like 'bright green' rather than the traditional 'lime' green on the dis boards. I don't think our group would use 100 or more of these, and I was wondering if your group would be interested in some also? Including shipping, I could get these for around $2 a piece which includes the lanyard with hook and card case. I was thinking that we would use them for our KTTWC's as well as our identification PLUS I would print out a card to place in the front of the case with the DIS username!

If your group would be interested in such a thing, please have the 'organizer' drop me an email so we can discuss this further.

Thanks!
:)

The lanyards sounds like a good thing. I wonder if it is something the DIS folks would want to sell?

Thanks for the advice! We were thinking along that line, but now you've nailed it home for us. What a shame to have our flight held up and miss our first adventure at sea. DH thinks the Radisson sounds like a good choice so we shall try to book a room there.
Time for the next question. We booked directly with DCL and paid it off last week. How long will we have to wait before we get our stuff? (flight info, all that)
Also, is it wise to get passports for the 3 of us?
Lastly, can anyone join this 9pm chat? I would love to pop in and just observe mostly. I'm sure there's going to be great info. How do I get there?
Thanks again,
Terry
anxious first time cruiser

Guess who is bored at work today waiting for the copy machine repair dude.

Cruise documents usually come out about 2-3 weeks before you sail. They are delivered by Fed Ex.

There is a AAA discount for the Raddison, also check on line at their web sire for a special deal. Sorry I don't know their web site address.

Chat is open to one and all, go to teh DIS home page and follow the links under Community/Misc.

Bunnymom, if u have birth certifcate for the three of u that will be enough the only time u will need to show it is at the time of check in at the port , Chat we will try to get there
