Inaugural 3/31/12 Fantasy Cruise

I'd be up to a CC 5K. The only time I run is on Disney property! (did Mickey Halloween 5K) The rest of the time, I just walk~ :rotfl:
My DH wants me to enter other 5K runs. Basically, if it is not a Disney run, or a run for my favourite charity, I will only run with the dog. Actually, running with the dog is more difficult than any Disney run. CC and WDW is pretty flat with no snow or ice. My neighbourhood is full of hills (all up hill) and I live in the land of snow and ice. Yes, there are days that I feel like I live in an igloo. :rotfl2: That is why I started the annual DCL fix.

DH and I booked this cruise and are looking forward to a preview when we cruise on the Dream for our 32nd anniversary next month!

Although I'm a fan of smaller ships, I'm willing to throw caution to the winds and try a mega-ship, Disney style.

Welcome aboard. We are John (67) and Noel (60) and this will be our 6th cruise. Our next cruise will be the WBTA 2011. We celebrated our 25 on last years WBTA. I have a "welcome wagon" post that needs to be updated since the dates changed as soon as I know who is still coming, etc..

I am still shaking from the half hour it took me to switch our 6/23/12 booking to this one last night. The website kept acting up and kept us in the 8B we were in on that cruise for the price of an 8D on this one but switched us to an unwanted aft room when I hit confirm and make final payment. Thankfully the room I originally wanted to book for the past 1 1/2 weeks showed back up and I switched it -- all while on the phone with a DCL rep who laughed with me after it was all done and asked if I was going to be ok. :) Now I have to figure out how to DH that I have already done this. I can't believe we are going on the MV!!! :yay:

It will be myself, DH Mike, DS William 13 and DD Kaitlyn 11.

Hi, everyone!

We willl be joining you on the Fantasy MV.

Remember this is all YOUR fault!!! I originally would have booked the MV but it was right after the kids' 3 week spring break [year round school]. Now it is perfect in the last week. Still never thought about switching until Enna & also her DH sent me messages on FB when we were in Key West on the Magic last week telling us they just booked. LOL!:lmao:

Does anyone know if they are giving a discount for the MV if you book on board? :confused3

I switched my Magic Dec 30/11 reservation to the Fantasy MV, and then the representative informed me that I lose my onboard booking discount and the deposit is twice the amount and non refundable.

I asked at the rebooking desk last week if there was any benefit to booking onboard. Both people told me no so I didn't. I talked to our TA this weekend & she told me that is not true & both people on the Magic right now are new. When I transferred my reservation last night online it still says that there is an onboard credit attached to my reservation. There was no discount but the OBC still helps.

There is usually a formal night and a semi formal night on a 7 night cruise. I've seen all kinds of fancy clothes for the formal night. Some men do wear tuxes and some just wear a jacket and tie. If your husband is game for the tux, go for it!

I am thinking that with this being the MV there will be more dressing up? Guess we will find out after the MV of the Dream reports back.

I've been to Canada, and once, we had some Canadian Boy Scouts staying in our house for a week. Does that get me into the club? :rotfl:

DH and I spent 10 days driving through Nova Scotia and New Brunswick after taking the ferry over to Yarmouth from Maine. It was beautiful! My favorite places were Cape Breton and the echo caves in St. Johns.

Welcome aboard!! I am glad all went well with your rebooking. I have a "welcome wagon" post that needs to be updated to what activities will be planned. We are John (67) and myself, Noel (60) and this will make our 6th cruise. John will be wearing his tux on formal night as usual. Our next cruise will be the WBTA in September.

We had to cancel last year's WBTA. One day it will happen! This summer we are hoping to go to Alaska with a bunch of friends we made on our 2006 cruise.

We had to choose between Alaska repo and this cruise. DH wanted to repeat the WBTA repo.

Welcome, Lisa! We just booked this week as well. We actually still have our 6/23/12 reservation out there, but I won't be on that one if we do this one!

I was debating whether to transfer the Alaska cruise to this one and still try for the 6/23 but am holding out hope for doing that one. We are "stuck" doing this one now for sure. June is really a busy month for us. I just got the info for the college run engineering program for 7th & 8th graders that DS has been looking forward to and it is the week before. Then there is DH's annual meeting for work that is also in that timeframe. Doing this in March just takes away all of those factors and any snow day makeups that year would be taken care of in the first week of spring break [at least I would hope so!]

We just booked for the MV on the Fantasy! Can't wait! Our kids are so excited!!!

Look forward to counting down with all of you!

Julie

:welcome: to the Dis, Julie!

We had to choose between Alaska repo and this cruise. DH wanted to repeat the WBTA repo.

We had such a great time last year, we wish we could repeat the WBTA again, too. Darn school just gets in the way! :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: And my DH says I am the only one crazy enough to do a countdown like that...

When I booked this cruise, the CM gave me a countdown of days/weeks before we set sail! I almost asked him "Are you a Diser?"
