It has become obvious that some people cannot control their lack of class and lack of patriotism when attending the Hall of the Presidents.

Monday I witnessed something that just disgusted me.

When in the Hall of the Presidents, in the part where all presidents are introduced. When Bill Clinton was announced there were applaus and boos and when George W. Bush was introduced there was a loud boo by a family followed by shouting of comments.

No CM's approached the individuals but it was enough for several other people to shout back and even get to a point where more people were distracted than watching the show.

I am furious about this lack of class.

First of all, the Hall of the Presidents is NOT the place to voice your political opinion or frustrations. It is a place to learn and be fascinated by the lifelike-ness of the presidents.

Regardless of your political preference I find it completely classless to express yourself in this manner. I am an American and support my country, even if I disagree with my president. If I dislike my president, I show it at the polls, NOT by causing public displays at inappropriate times.

I also find it COMPLETELY embarassing as an American for others (who are in many cases viewing this as citizens of another country) to hear Americans in a theatre of that format expressing themselves like that. I find it embarassing that Americans cannot act patriotic if they disagree with the president in office. It is a disgrace.

I think that something should be said prior to the showing of the show about silence during the show. This attitude COMPLETELY disgusts me!

completely classless. No matter how strongly they feel, they should respect their fellow guests trying to enjoy the show.

OMG!!! That is absolutely terrible!!!
I'm very opinionated and love to talk politics with others (who also want to do so). I don't have a problem with someone sharing their political views (even if I don't agree)...but I don't want to hear it while on vacation.

Vacation is a time to relax and enjoy. The real world is depressing enough. We work hard all year and want to leave some of that behind us when vacation time rolls around (one reason for choosing to go to WDW to begin with).

People need to remember that everyone in that theater has invested their time and money just to "get away" from the real world for a little while. No need to have a political demonstration at WDW in my opinion.

If I want to spend my vacation demonstrating, I'll march on my state capital or Washington. I wouldn't subject others to my opinions just because they were a captive audience for a few minutes! Forget classless, that is just plain tacky!!!!

I completely agree.

That type of behavior is juvenile, obnoxious, inconsiderate and assanine.

Fortunately, we have yet to experience this, and I sincerely hope we never do. I'm sincerely sorry that you were subjected to this.

How completely inappropriate and selfish. :confused3 I would find it hard to contain myself!

That's terrible! :sad2: No matter what your political views are, people should have more tact when at a family theme park....with ANIMATRONICS....its not like they're really Bill Clinton or George W. Bush....sheesh :confused3

I agree. Who cares if you don't like a president, a show at Disney is definately not the time to express it.

wow, that is bad. I can't beleive that i am still shocked to see/hear stuff like that. Espically somewhere like Disney. Some people just don't have any respect. I'm sorry that made your visit to the Hall of Presidents a little less magical.

I honestly expect to hear comments everytime, but I've never actually heard anyone say anything. In this day and age, I expect anything and while I find it horrible, I don't find it surprising.

I guess we were one of the few who have not experience such behavior in that theater. most of the time the peopel who sat all the way at the bag were sleeping or resting.. we dont hear any booing just snoring :rotfl2: that's are common experience there to a point that my DNephew told my dad one time "if your tired pop pop I'll let you see the Presidents there you can sleep :rotfl2:

That's awful. I'm so sorry the show was ruined for you :(

I haven't been in The Hall of Presidents since I was a child. I was planning on doing it on our upcoming trip. I hope this doesn't happen to us.

While inappropriate and distracting for those who are watching the show - I think in some ways it is good that foreigners can hear Americans "expressing themselves like that" and not getting arrested for it. Free speech (although not the proper place for it).

Yes, we are fortunate that we live in a country where we can express ourselves about many issues. Of course, raving and ranting at animated puppets (be they at the Hall of Presidents at WDW or in the White House) doesn't solve any problems in this country...

I remember hearing booing at Pres. Nixon, in HOP during and after Watergate. It didn't bother me. Now, my husband's snoring gets me embarrased and offended. We would never intentionally want to offend others but only be respectful.

All right who else thought "inappropriate Behavior" = Make out sessions??? :confused3

:rotfl2: Do I need a vacation or what???!! :rotfl2:

(btw, I agree that free speech should be protected... as long as politcial groups dont start bussing in their 'sides' to "boo" etc, I dont have a problem with it, and I promise if I hear the "boo" I may give my best "teacher dirty look" to try and squelch the behavior, but beyond that, I support free speech... )

That is terrible. If they did that while I was there it would totally ruin.......

My nap.

Yes, it is classless. It is on private property and is not meant for political purposes. It is just there to help educate us. And it is voluntary to attend.

I thought the inappropriate behavior was going to be people napping when they should be feeling all patriotic!

I agree it may not be the best place to vent your spleen, but I'm with the group that's happy we have the right to express our opinion without being arrested. I also think it shows people are paying attention to what's going on in the world and feel a need to do something about it. Hopefully the people who boo'ed are also active in making the changes they feel are better for our country. I may or may not agree with their boo'ing or their political leanings, but I'm glad we all have the right to do it.
