I am so sorry that you are dealing with this medical stuff! Hopefully you can get some answers soon and figure out how to treat this problem. Stay on top of it and make sure you get your answers!

Merry Christmas! I hope that you have a wonderful holiday

Wishing you a merry Christmas.

Thank you all very, very much!!! I had blood work done last Friday  and I have a follow-up apt with my primary in three weeks. I feel fairly confident (and my dr did before I even went for the blood work) that it was the meds raising the liver enzymes because I have absolutely no symptoms of anything else being wrong.

I *probably* should have called the neurologist's office Thurs or Fri to see what they had to say, but I just didn't feel like dealing with it. We'll save that for 2014.

How 'Saving Mr Banks' Saved 2013

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas... or, at least a Happy Wednesday!

I went to a friend's house for Christmas Eve and had a yummy dinner. Another very dear friend invited me to his parents' house for Christmas day, which is actually where I've spent the last two Christmases. Unfortunately, it's about an hour and a half away and because of timing I would have had to drive myself and I was just too tired for the drive.

So I had a lovely Disney-mas! I opened my presents in the morning and among other things, I got some Disney/trip-related stuff:
  • rechargeable batteries (this was a specific request for my trip!)
  • Disney gift card
  • Minnie Mouse slippers
  • the cutest mini pin set... seven character heads all decked out in nerd glasses

Funny story about the pin set... my sister said she knew I'd want to keep them all because I am quite the nerd and love all things nerdy. But she said there were enough of them that I could keep some and trade some and was not really given a choice in the matter. Haha. The cutest thing though is that ultimately it was my niece who picked that particular set because "we both wear glasses" :cutie:

After opening my presents, I settled in for the Disney parade, aka the two-hour-long Disney commercial.

{Before I continue, I need to point out that ABC Family (I think) put Mary Poppins on one day last week and I recorded it and proceeded to take approximately six hours to watch it. It's definitely a classic, but it's not my favorite movie. But I really wanted to see it again before I went to see Saving Mr Banks.}

It was finally time to head to the movie theater to see the movie I've been waiting MONTHS for. Don't you hate it when you build up that level of anticipation and wind up disappointed?

Thank goodness THAT didn't happen!!!!

You know all that good stuff I said about Frozen? That is nothing compared to how I feel about Saving Mr Banks!! pixiedust: I was in tears in the movie theater (which was packed). This was one of the most amazingly produced/directed/filmed/acted movies EVER. I realize Disney lovers have bias here, but remember how I said Mary Poppins wasn't exactly my favorite movie? They way it all ties together is an amazing story and I am SO GLAD that someone decided it would be a good idea to show it on the big screen.

I think Tom Hanks did a great job as Walt... I think my love for Walt Disney makes it really hard for anyone to completely step in and fill his shoes. I would feel the same way about someone playing George Lucas. But I can't imagine anyone else playing him, either. Tom Hanks is the kind of guy who just should play WD. Emma Thompson was phenomenal. And, although it probably won't happen... Colin Farrell deserves an Oscar nomination.

Just thinking about it makes my heart melt. It was exactly what I needed to fix a year that has been one nasty rollercoaster ride. (You may remember that I hate rollercoasters :p)

I came home and did one last Disney activity.... any guesses??

Christmas Day just happened to be my 60 day mark!! I could NOT have planned that any better if I tried. Sooooo... I now have FP+ reservations! Arriving in Orlando close to noon will not prevent me from taking a ride on Soarin'!

Yippeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

All righty then. Who's ready to say GOOD RIDDANCE to 2013 with me?? :wave2:

I'm with you on good riddance to 2013 and am looking forward to a much better 2014!

I can't wait to see Saving Mr. Banks. Your review has my even more excited!

The pin set sounds great!

Hurry for FP+ reservations and being at less than 60 days!!

Good riddance in DEED!

I want to see Saving Mr. Banks so bad!!!!! I haven't had a chance yet, but I think I will try and go this week though! Even if I have to go by myself! haha I hate to pay for a babysitter and then the cost of the movie. OOH! Do you have an iPad? They have a free eBook for the iPad (only I'm afraid, I haven't seen it for the nook or kindle…) that is pretty awesome. I downloaded it and read and watched everything already.

Sounds like you had a great Christmas! Haven't seen Saving Mr. Banks yet but it's on my list!

We also had the Disney parade on TV after the kids opened their presents. You're right, it is a two hour long informercial for Disney. :lmao: Actually it provided the impetus for me and my sister-in-law to come up with a trip for both of our families in 2015! ;)

Making FP+ ressies - that's a perfect way to spend Christmas! :thumbsup2

Hi khaleesi!! Congratulations on your Holly Jolly 5K!! Seriously! I'm impressed that you get out there and do that in winter. Great job.

I've not seen Frozen or Saving Mr. Banks but I really need to do so. I'm the type of person who likes to watch movies at home so I can relax in my bathrobe. Not sure if I would get strange looks if I brought that to the theater. That and I've also hears that Savings Mr. Banks is a deeply emotional movie. I know I'll need a box of tissue. ;)

Yay for Disney-centric Christmas gifts. And even better than you have your FP+ reserved already.

Wishing you all the best with the New Year. I'll join you in saying good riddance to 2013. :)

I still didn't get to see Saving Mr Banks but my birthday is coming up and that's what I want to do for it.
Sounds like you had a lovely christmas! Your pin set sounds too cute.

Ohhhhhh hi!!! Yeah, I'm still here. And leaving for Disney in

ONE WEEK!!!!!!

My FB post this morning went like this:
"khaleesi: You've survived your life being flipped upside down, being turned into a human pincushion, being pumped with steroids, and your medication creating more problems than it's fixed. What are you are going to do next???"

And of course that was followed with a giant picture of Mickey and the caption "I'm going to Disney World!" pixiedust:

I've been way behind keeping up with this report (obviously :sad2:) and everyone else's as well. At this point I'm probably just ditching my efforts here so I can read everyone's much more entertaining stories!

I still have every intention of doing a regular trip report when I get back. It's just been hard keeping up with this between doctor visits and work and life. I figure an after-I-get-back trip report can take me as long as I want to write! And I really want to have it to look back on.

Here are some highlights of my plans:
Sunday:
- Arrive @ All-Star Movies
- Head over to Epcot
- I have a FP+ for Soarin' and Under the Seas. I didn't bother making a third one, as I'm really not too concerned with NOT getting to do everything I want.
- I may or may not brave the Elsa and Anna M&G line. I'd love love love to meet them, but I'm not thrilled with standing in line for that long.
- Illuminations... depending on how tired I am. It's supposed to be a high of 80º today, as of right now at least. For me... that's a little warm. Especially since it's been really cold here lately).

Monday:
- Animal Kingdom with EMH
- Immediately hop on the Safari
- Breakfast at Tusker House
- I also have a FP+ for the Safari. I figure an early morning and mid-afternoon trek should net me some nice pictures!
- Lunch at The Mara (maybe... still haven't decided on this one)
- I'm really hoping to meet Russell and Dug
- Head over to the Art of Animation to look around for a bit
- Dinner @ Downtown Disney
- Ride in the hot air balloon
- Watch the movie back at the hotel

Tuesday:
- Hollywood Studios
- First things first... Star Tours!!!!
- I have FP+ for TSM, Star Tours, and Tower of Terror. My goal is to do ST and ToT several times!
- Afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian
- Art class
- Fantasmic!

Wednesday:
- Magic Kingdom
- Ride as much as a I can in the morning
- Braves Spring Training Game @ Wide World of Sports!!!
- Dinner at Be Our Guest
- Wishes (this is tentative, depending on what I still want to ride. I know missing it is a cardinal sin, but I'm losing a huge chunk of time between back-and-forth to WWoS and my BOG dinner)

Thursday:
- I'll have a couple hours to kill since I wake up so bloody early, so I'm not sure what I'm doing before I have to head out.
- Chick-Fil-A at MCO. This is way more exciting to me than I can really express and probably the only thing that will keep me from bursting into tears.

Have a great day, everyone!!!

One week! How exciting! Looks like you have all your plans together too. Except, I hope you can see Wishes - what time is your BOG reservation that night?

BOG is at 6:05, so I should be done with that right around Wishes time. The problem is the game.... I don't plan on staying for all of it, but I think it's gonna take up some time with the travel there and back. I plan on getting there are rope drop, and they are open till 10 that night I think. My concern is getting overly tired, with the MS. I've not done anything anywhere close to this jam-packed since the diagnosis so it should be interesting!

Your itinerary looks great! Don't forget to save room for dessert at BOG. Hope you have a fantastic trip! :thumbsup2

I always have room for dessert!!! :goodvibes Thanks a bunch!!!

That FB post was the perfect sentiment for your life and Disney is the best medicine!!

I'm glad that you will be doing a TR because I want to hear about the firsts and all the things that you plan to do - which are some things that I've never done! (And I likely won't do the hot air balloon! :rolleyes2)

Enjoy your tea at the GF. That was one of my favorite things to do. So wonderfully relaxing.

I wish you all the best and have a great trip! :)

Have a great trip! Looks like you've got everyday action packed. Be sure to take some time to "stop and smell the roses" too. Look forward to your TR!

I can understand getting overly tired; I do the same thing on my trips, and I'm not fighting a medical diagnosis at all. Maybe it will time out perfectly, and you'll get to see the fireworks even if you're just walking out while they're going on!

I just got a lunch reservation for my April trip at BOG for my arrival day; I love their turkey sandwich with an inappropriate amount of love, so I'm very much looking forward to it!

Love the Facebook post, that's perfect!
Can't believe is so close! Sounds like some great plans, I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back. :)

I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD TOMORROW!!! I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD TOMORROW!!! I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD TOMORROW!!!

I got home from work yesterday and called my mom... I told her I was on vacation for a week and had absolutely nothing to do and asked if she had any suggestions. :rotfl:

I'm such a dork.

I got a sweet little interoffice package at work on Tuesday. A friend sent me these, along with a Valentine's Day card that sang the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse song when you opened it.

Now I'm very impatiently sitting here waiting to print my boarding pass... I leave in 24.25 hours!! HURRY UP!!!!

I'm pretty much good to go... I made a bunch of signs with my nieces and nephews names on them so I can take pictures with the characters and still sort of include all of them.

All I really need to do is pack (I am a very light traveler) and drop my cat off at his babysitter's house. That's the part I hate :( He hates the cat carrier and I feel so bad leaving him. So I'll probably be a bit melancholy later, but I know he'll be fine.

Thank you all so much for the sweet comments!!!! And I'll see ya real soon pixiedust:
